I’m retired myself, but does anyone else play this game?
Seems like we could use a topic to talk about it. If anyone plays it, that is.

I played it for a bit, but it is way too time-consuming for me. I can’t imagine how some people pay their subscription with their in-game creds.
Run incursions couple of hours a month or play eve poker.
The soundtrack for this game is pure amazing. I’ve been listening to it on youtube all day.
I might actually go back to playing this game soon, I had a Hulk and almost an Orca on my Alt so I could manage 2 accounts with in-game ISK. I had to abruptly stop playing it because my GFX card wasn’t up to par at the time of the Incarnia update. Hopefully my old friends on there still play it so I can catch up to speed.
Yeah, I was mostly just grinding ISK too before I quit. I had a nicely fit T2 Drake, and I was working out of a nullsec system with an absolutely glorious array of anomalies.
'Course, if I do resub, odds are I’ll be training for a Vagabond and start PVPing.
People say I’m crazy, but mining is fun and the best job on EVE. It’s an 100% source of income, always in demand, and it allows you to multitask while doing it. I had a few planets running some PI’s while mining. Also, I’ve only stayed in the noob corp, so I can’t go to low sec often I just never felt like joining another Corp because I’ll have to be dedicated and give them some of my resources and profits.
Now that I think bout it I might go and resub today, I got an e-mail about miners being in high demand, hopefully Hulkageddon has already past XD
I tried the free play trial. To say it’s a slow game is an understatement…it’s glacial.
But really I’d be ok with it if I could fly the ship manually rather than clicking between way points.
I want to dogfight!
Use the orbit function, silly.
yeah lol, that bummed me out too. Also, I agree Pyro the soundtrack in EVE was amazing it’s one of my favorite game soundtracks of all time.
Always been tempted by Eve. So you don’t get to actually control your ship manually?
That would somewhat destroy my interest somewhat. Although perhaps not… ?
I’m even MORE intrigued! Reading stories on the history of the game and the kinda stuff people have got up to in regards to ‘hostile takeovers’ between corporations, sounds awesome.
Other than Star Wars it’s the only MMORPG I’ve ever been interested in getting. What are the monthly sub fees?
Did kind of enjoy what I played of it. But it’s such an intimidating game.
@Mented; Here’s a good review of Eve which sums up the game for you

You can double-click in space. You don’t have to use waypoints to simply move.
As for the monthly fees, it’s like 25 bucks per month. At least until you can buy game time for the in-game currency. After that it’s basically free.
It’s only 15 dollars per month, but the first month costs 20 dollars IIRC.
They take less money from americans? That’s interesting. As for the first month costing more, I don’t think you’re “recall correctly”
Also good job on reading the thread surplus_ninja :]
Lol. I love no punctuation, reviews are actually good AND funny. A rarity.
I’l think about picking up Eve when I get a new rig sorted. Although the idea of all those menus strikes a fear that my OCD side will never return from!
