Eucharistic Shenaninigans

I’ve had a few Christians start on me for being an atheist, and after a while, they always bring up these Eucharistic miracle thingies, saying it’ll prove me wrong. Then they go an link me to Youtube. Youtube. Saying it’s evidence. They also tell me that there are numerous pieces of evidence that say the miracles aren’t faked.

Okay folks. Show me that evidence. Oh, and by the way, I mean evidence, not videos. You know, maybe some trials by an actually accredited scientist (that means a name at least, not “some atheist scientist”).

Also if anyone wants to post video of UFO sightings, that would be cool too.

That is lies. We had your UFO argument ages ago.

It didn’t involve youtube videos, tho

No, no, no. You had a thread about UFO’s before. I don’t think there were any arguments, just discussion.

Ok, here, we can resolve this issue easily.

I hate when people try forcing their views on others. You should be comfortable with your beliefs without having to make sure everyone else believes them too. Just tell them to leave you alone.

What kind of god would tell people they can’t love each other just because they are the same sex? What kind of god threatens to SMITE YOU DOWN or completely abandon you to the endless horrors of “hell” because you masturbated or you didn’t pray every night? Religious zealots have caused nothing but problems throughout history.

Religion is nothing but a scape goat for people to scared to really face whatever is after death, not only that but the miracles performed by “Gods son” are so full of stupidity, if someone in MODERN times ran around doing all the “miracles” he performed, the last thing that would be in your mind would be “Oh, he’s obviously gods son”. No one but gullible idiots would believe he was the son of god, You know not only was there a “messiah” on every street corner back then but he only had TWELVE followers, Cults that believe killing themselves to transform into aliens have more followers than him, so how impressive could he have been? I mean if the primitive people in his OWN time wouldn’t follow him why do some many people believe in it today? Because it happen a VERY long time ago, Not only that but it has also been embellished and exaggerated.

Honestly if there is any type of god like that, I’d still say fuck him. I rather be in hell than stuck for eternity with some mindless red neck.

Those be fighting words.

That’s Conservative Catholicism and other sects where every tiny detail of the Bible is interpreted as fact, not Christianity in general.

Why don’t we all just try this. If everyone in the world followed this ideology, the world would be a much better place.

Maybe Kairouseki’s not taking a side with this statement. But I see people all the time (atheists especially) use this…and then go on to tell everyone why believers are so stupid and they should be atheists.

I don’t know if they realize the irony.

One thing in Christianity I thought was funny is that one of the main references for dislike towards homosexuality is the whole Sodom and Gomorrah story. I guess when the travelers got to Sodom they were approached by two males and asked to partake in sexual intercourse. It does say that the city was over run with sin, but it doesn’t say that homosexuality is one of the sins. It was always just presumed. I guess the term ‘sodomy’ originates from this reference of the Sodomites of the bible. I have to wonder if the reference was more mentioning it because they were partaking in sex outside of marriage, rather than it being homosexual activities.

I believe that religion is the worst thing to happen to humanity, but I’m not about to go door to door to push my beliefs on others by telling them about the enlightenment and freedom of life without religion. That is an asshole thing to do.

people are frequently mislead with religon, its not religon thats the problem its man. Alot of religons preach peace from Christainty to Islam, which is great, but then “man” comes in and exgarettes something thats writen in that religon and then theirs a problem, and then another man comes along and says if that man thinks that then all others like him must do, so a vicious cycle starts, it ends in blood, lessons are learnt then forgot and in time it repeats. Like someone said here each to his own beliefs, and we must respect what others believe but being human thats a lot more complicated then that. As for faith healers I do not believe it, any more then I believe in ghosts, if you want to prove me wrong my minds open to evidence and by evidence theirs only one kind, seeing, not on youtube, in front of you

Im with you Soup, im an atheist too
I’ve lost my faith long ago

Don’t we already have about twenty thread in which two groups of people try to convince each other that their lack of evidence is superior?

What I do know we have is every single thread with at least one post where a user doesn’t want to be involved in a conversation, but still feels the need to post about providing some little reason they think every single thread in existence shouldn’t be started.

I’m just saying we have too many of these threads. And I do tend to do that a lot, I admit.

Well actually he had many followers. Apostles are just the ones that “loved him most”.

I still say religion is useless and we’d be better off without it.

Can’t we all just make up our own religions and move on? Instead of asking for proof like a douchebag, why don’t you just confuse the hell out the dude pushing his faith on you? Speak in an odd accent and solicit drugs or some ridiculous nonexistent sex tapes on him.
