Episode 3 to appear at E3

https://www.thegamereviews.com/story-1423-HalfLife-2-Episode-3-to-Debut-at-E3-Update.html

After years of silence and slim and none in the way of updates, Valve is apparently showing off E3 at E3.

What do you guys think will be on display? A short trailer? A playable section? An in-depth demo of new features and gameplay mechanics?

Discuss.

The update on that site is a link to a 2008 Kotaku article about an E3 that already happened…

Someone apparantly didn’t do enough research…

But “showing off E3 at E3” is pretty funny, though I’m not sure if that was intentional or not

They said they were not going to reveal the surprise until we were experiencing the surprise, and so that is what they will do regarding the surprise.

Graugh!

Looks like I’ve been tricked.

brb. Need to go punch a friend in the face.

Valve is going to make some announcement to do with the ARG at E3. Its highly probable that this will include Episode 3, given the amount of non-Portal content in the images recovered during the ARG’s first phase.

Every single thing was Portal related… And every image is directly identified in the Game Informer magazine…

Aside from the fact that a lot hasn’t been identified and/or is still unrevealed, there’s still some that clearly wasn’t related with Portal:

You can see here some of the SSTV pictures that aren’t related to Portal (i.e. the satellite pictures from Minerva’s creator), and there are some sounds that aren’t from Portal either (i.e. Alyx’s new line).

All of the images have the aperture science logo on them, it’s more likely to be portal 2 related than episode 3 related.

Everything HAS been identified. The sounds are the new fizzlers. It was confirmed that it wasn’t Alyx talking. The SSTV pictures you linked are captures from security cameras around Aperture Science. As Solokiller said, they all have aperture logos… There are pictures from Adam Foster because he MADE the ARG.

There is not a single thing about the ARG that points to any info on EP3.

well I dunno if the word has got out yet, but apparently valve have cancelled their portal 2 event and replaced it with a “suprise”. . .

Episode 3 anyone?

looks fake, and no source provided.

Well clearly I was under a misapprehension. I wasn’t aware that all of the information had been identified as Portal based. My bad.

Ya no worries. Just check out the steam forum for everything. As much as I would like to see EP3 at E3, I’m not holding my breath.

Truth.

Urby has been foiled well.

I read the ign article and came to this website immediately to see any discussion of the surprise (similar to what I did when the whole Portal 2 secret transmission stuff happened).

COULD THE DAY BE APPROACHING? D:

Maybe the big surprise is that they’re bringing the whole HL saga into a single game, so you can play HL1 through Episode 3 in a single sitting.

And guess who made the whole proper HL1 to Source Engine conversion!

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
