Epic games' Project Sword.

I posted it in chat thread and then thought it deserved a new thread.
A new game on Unreal 3 engine is being developed… for a handy and a pad.

And a demo is already out:

That’s pretty fucking remarkable. I think it marks a new milestone for mobile devices.

tries out the demo right now

edit: Ok, tried it out on my iPod touch 3G. I must say, it blew my mind.

It really looks fantastic. The performance only goes down if you go outside and you look completely at the fortress. It also looks a little bit like cel-shading.

Now, let’s see what happens…

Well, I didn’t even expect it to run on 3g.
I thought it was strictly for iOS4 :freeman:

That’s looking amazing, but I keep thinking…

3G =/= iOS 4

iOS is the operating system, running on almost all i-devices

3G meaning Ipod Touch 3rd gen, which besides the iPhone 4 is the only device capable of running this

Also tried it on my ipod 3g, im quite frankly amazed.

It looks awesome, but I wonder how good the games can be. The controls are a touch limited. I’m gonna wait this one out before I get excited, as a do for everything else.

This for PC?

I thought the touch limitation would be severe too, but navigating on the itouch was an eaze. I can’t really describe how it works, you just kind of have to see for yourself in a video or something

Though I must admit it looks relatively interesting, this still won’t persuade me to buy an iPhone.

It looks like it has promise, but I have nothing that can run it.

IMO, Chair Entertainment should stop developing this, and start developing Shadow Complex 2.

Perhaps it works for simple navigation, but I’m thinking more of open combat, multiple weapons, and the like. Its definitely more limiting than a console controller.

That’s without a doubt. With the control system they implemented though it should be fairly simple to move, turn and fire simultaneously with relative ease, but I guess we won’t know until the actual game is released and we can field-test it.

Personally, I’m much more interested in the games that will come after this. The engine performance and appearance is what I really like.

Honestly, it’s only good on the iPhone 4, and it fucking blows my mind.

Runs great on the iPad too.

I came.

I know what you mean… in 1 or 2 years, 11 year old kids will ask their parents to buy them an iphone just to show their friends how awesome it looks… :aah::aah:

Runs amazingly well with no visible lag or FPS-drops on my third gen iPod Touch.

But it does not get a retina display.

Well, I thought you guys meant iphone 3g. Hence :freeman:

awww… doesn’t work on my old 2nd Gen iPod Touch :frowning:
