Jiggle Physics for Alyx’s boobies, that is all.
I hope we get a level with decent blizzard conditions. And for the cloth physics discussion going on, if Gordon has a partner in the arctic they better have heavy, draping, cloth-tastic attire. Alyx would look good with a scarf.
Wind would be a nice touch, like an updated version of the bridge in HL2. That wind was (I think) scripted. I kinda want my gravity gun to not work as well up wind if I’m firing something obviously less aerodynamic than a heavy smooth metal sphere. Fluid dynamics for water would wreck most pcs, but adding dumbed-down drag, air resistance, and windspeed seems reasonable for pcs now where it wasn’t back in 2006.
No, it applies to clothing.
Scarves are never practical, not when they’re loose & floppy like you want. I’ll give you some credit though, at least you’re not the hundredth person to say trenchcoat.
That wind was purely audio.
Loose hanging bits of clothing, not shirts and pants and shit.
HEV suits are outdated, Gordon is gonna wear Superman’s trench coat.
People don’t just wear clothes for practicality. Sometimes they wear stuff just because it looks good.
While probably not used too much in Ep3, I’d like to see the engine be able to render more detail sprites on displacements, and at a higher density, so we can make maps with nice overgrown grassy fields.
People still believe it’s Episode Three ? I thought this thread is just for fun … :freeman:
Don’t try to start that again son, some poor sap’s gonna take you seriously and then we’ll have 20 pages of arguing and trolling.
You say that as if this thread wasn’t entirely arguing & trolling to begin with.
That might be a good reason if it weren’t a post-apocalyptic hell & the characters weren’t as well written.
Ugh. What a terrible design.
I agree with you on that. I’m sick of Ah! Ow! Ah! Ow! UH!
I want something where they trip, get thrown to the ground(crowbar, do a back flip when shot or hit in face. Oh, and I wish the Source Engine would be something becides Havok, because Havok crashed my computer the other day.
:freeman: Signed, TheOneFreeMan
sure…
anyways, the combine troops are modified humans and are probably totally high, like totally on drugs.
There already are flinching animations that play when characters get hit. The Magnum already makes people backflip when shot in the head, there’s no reason to add that over-the-top garbage to every weapon. It’s not even a new engine ‘feature’, it’s just exaggerating the effect of an existing one.
How? What makes you so sure it was havok?
Your name is clearly visible to the left of your post. There’s no need to ‘sign’ things.
On the other hand, I doubt many people would object to it if Valve implemented Euphoria into the engine.
Hell yeah. It’s a proprietary thing so they’re perfectly capable of using it as long as they can get it to work with their engine. They probably have enough money to license it as well. We should write them an email.
Word of mouth says it’s a bitch to implement and takes months of rigorous testing and back and forth between the provider to get right.
I’d rather Valve work up some kind of approximation.
The physics must be realistic enough to create a realistic computer crash
I mean there’s destructible environments already
