End Portal 2, a person running?!

I don’t know if I am crazy, but I see a person running, with a white coat :expressionless:

Screen:

Run this video (do not pause) between 3:29 and 3:32.

Ok, what?

It’s the companion cube you m****.

Yeah it’s the companion cube. At first I thought it was a guy too but after looking at it, it’s definitely the companion cube. I especially know it is because it keeps going up the stairs and following the elevator behind the glass as you keep going up, then at the end it lands right behind you.

While it’s definitely the companion cube, I didn’t notice it before this thread. Valve is awesomely nuts. So much ridiculous detail that is barely noticeable but awesome if and when you do notice it.

Did anyone else notice the smiley face in the elevator tubes? Literally as soon as the level loads, on the section between the blackness and when you start seeing stuff outside the tube.

This definitely a companion cube, but it appears to be one of the newer glowing ones.

Maybe they didn’t think people would take so much notice and just forgot to make it the older one.

it got dirty at the end where you see the abandoned test chambers

I read the video’s youtube comments, and a countless number of people are saying it’s the Ratman. Lol. It’s obviously the companion cube unless the Ratman is pink and has 6 congruent sides.

Oh and one guy said he noticed a body in the background. He is most likely trolling though. It would be neat if Valve has yet another detail we havent spotted yet that reveals the Ratman’s body, leg shot up too, following the comic.

EDIT: Btw, at 3:38… Is that a potato plant engulfing multiple turrets with its root system? Or is that a patch of Xen Plants/bacteria spreading throughout the room? It looks very odd.

I guess we know why Valve used motion pictures for that sequence instead of the in-game world, because then anyone could noclip through the area and see the animations from a better angle.

If anyone wants to take a look at the turret song lyrics (Because they’re actually singing with words)
Cara bella, cara mia bella!
Mia bambina, o ciel!
Ché la stimo…
Ché la stimo.
O cara mia, addio!
La mia bambina cara,
perché non passi lontana?
Sì, lontana da Scïenza, [personified]
Cara, cara mia bambina?
Ah, mia bella!
Ah, mia cara!
Ah, mia cara!
Ah, mia bambina!
O cara, cara mia…

Now in English:
Dear beautiful, my beautiful darling!
My child, oh Chell!
For I hold her in esteem…
For I hold her in esteem.
Farewell to my dear!
My dear girl,
why do you not walk away?
Yes, away from Science,
My dear, my dear girl?
Ah, my beautiful!
Ah, my dear!
Ah, my dear!
Ah, my child!
Oh dear, my dear…

I know. I noclipped everywhere in the last few maps to see if i could find anything neat. Nothing. Although I love the end sequence, it makes me frustrated because yeah, what you said.

EDIT: Oh, and nice find, Maverix. I never would have known that. Valve is fucking insane. lol.

Where did you get that from? “o ciel” doesn’t translate to “Oh Chell”, it means “oh heavens”.

It is definite “Oh Chell”.

Chell is a name, it wouldn’t be translated. Where’s your source?

And to clarify: I don’t think Rossini wrote this to be directed to a girl named Chell!

It’s funny how different people see different things. My friend and I both decided to do the single game before going co-op. I was only a map ahead of him and mentioned how I happened to see P-Body going out and in a door off a catwalk. He never saw P-Body and was looking for him in that map. I couldn’t even guess how many times you’d have to play Portal 2 to see everything! That, alone, would be an achievement.

Damn valve are insane.

It’s a pun. Ciel sounds similar to Chell.

He probably got it from there:

Well if you look in the background on the right from 4.11 onwards I swear i can see a rattmann like figure in the background.

They mean ratman is CARRYING the cube. he would be behind the cube out of sight while running up the stairs.
