Empire State Building lights up for China.. WTF

My God you’re so right. Ever since Vietnam, America has been looked down upon. The media continues to spoon feed complete bullshit to America, and they’re asking for more. Luckily, there are those among us who don’t believe Bush’s lies. The media barely talked about Bush and his “leadership” for all his time as the president, but along comes a man who wants the Iraq war to stop and lo and behold, the media criticizes him in under 1 year of his presidency. Why won’t the rest of America open their eyes?

Naw, there was that brief stint after Gulf War One.

None of those aftermentioned countries has stated that they want to wipe a neighboring country of the face of the Earth.

It took you this long to realize that?

I was merely hoping he would re-read his posts then come to some early teen realisation that his life is meaningless and that he would get off the computer, go outside and get a life.

That’s because they’re all members of the Nuclear Non-Profileration treaty.

Renewable energy is actually rather reliable, it just has to be implemented correctly. Green energy can also be very practical, we do have the technology to stop relying on fossil fuels, but governments won’t fund research into green technologies for some bizzare reason.
Rubbish; Recycling and decomposableproducts is on way, but as recycling here is privatised, not all plastics can be recycled.
Starvation; I don’t know many methods there are to resolve this, but one biggy is if sell-by dates were re-reviewed in countries that have them(i.e. richer countries), it will free up a lot of food for those who are starving and allow more aid to be sent to places in need.
Cars; Honda has already started rolling out Hydrogen Fuel-Cell cars in California, the only trouble is the storage of Hydrogen is difficult, so once they’ve got that sorted, expect governments to start giving people free Hydrogen Fuel-Cell conversions.

That made my head hurt :’(

I do agree that green energy would work well, but I said it was impractical as it is not as easy and profitable as wasteful forms of energy, and, seeing as our world is motivated by profit, this isn’t gonna change until the last drop of oil is sucked from the world. This is why people aren’t researching green fuels as much as they should.

Not everything can be recycled, and once again, it is more profitable to use non recyclable materials.

You starvation idea is good and would definatly help, but it would not be a complete solution. Where I live all thee goods at Safeway that don’t sell by their due date are donated to soup kitchen and given to the homeless.

All this summed up: green alternatives aren’t nearly as profitable as wasteful ones so they aren’t going to be used until the wasteful ones run out.

EDIT: Never mind…

So, you guys made me question my beliefs, and I have discovered something.

The government of Pakistan is not an enemy. Neither are the people of Afghanistan. To mark them as enemies was ignorant, and I now agree with you.

After some research, I came to the conclusion that Afghanistan and Pakistan are doing the best they can to root out the Taliban and Al Qaeda, though their military simply doesn’t have the resources to do so. Instead, the true enemies are the terrorists in said countries, though that’s the story with all of the Middle East.

Iran and North Korea are still on my enemies list, though.

And everyone lived happily ever after…

Dude, as much as you pissed me off with your first post, you’ve reversed my opinion there. Someone in the middle of a argument on the internet, who rather than simply shouting his own ignorance in ever louder and more obnoxious tones (which depressingly seems to be the norm) instead went away to learn more about the issue under debate, and in addition had the stones to admit he was wrong before (rare as gold dust, on the internet or otherwise), is worthy of much respect in my opinion. :freeman:

EDIT: And if I was overly touchy please bear in mind growing up I had an awful lot of good friends of Pakistani descent or with Pakistani families.

Thank you.:3

RESPONSE TO EDIT EDIT: Aye, I understand. You need not worry, though, I’m not one of those Muslim hating racists.

Which is so much different from the current state in America, right?

It isn’t already? Also - even with guns, you would be pretty much fucked if the Army turned against your population. Your only hope lies in the integrity of military leaders. Good luck then. To us all, that is. If America becomes a Fourth Reich, the whole world is pretty much fucked.

If you think the US is a dictatorship, then you fail.

Who’s to say it isn’t one already? But in DISGUISE!! :terror:

@Winged One: If you think a dictatorship that calls itself democracy is not a dictatorship, just because it goes by another name, it is you who fails.

Also, for anyone who wants to go on about 9/11 (it won’t change anything anyway) - heres smth FYI:

Patriots Question 9/11

Just one in a million sites with the same questions asked - and no answers yet provided by any of those who easily could, because they still hold back all evidence gathered on that fateful day.

That democracy’s a spah!

Spah’s sappin mah Oligarchy

I was gonna rip you a brand new asshole for that.

Then I realized you are German. That means I should rip you a new asshole and give you a vagina since you should know first-hand what a dictatorship is. But I shall let you live…FOR NOW

Your manhood’s fate rests in the answer to the following question: Why is the US a dictatorship?

I have a ton of friends of Iranian descent, but you don’t see me praising the mother country.

If you learned anything from the wisdom of Patrick Swayze, it’s that small bands of teenage pals from school can fend off an entire army. Appalachia is fucking impossible to control. It’s like a western Afghanistan.

Lobbyist.
They don’t give a fuck about you, or me, they just want their pockets filled with cash. That goes for both lobbyist AND politicians.
Bush had stock in the oil company. Iraq has oil. Iraq is a Muslim country. 9/11 was caused by Muslims (and not our government for fuck’s sake). So maybe Bush could say Iraq had something to do with 9/11 so he could get support for an invasion of Iraq. That’s right, all the brave soldiers that have died in Iraq died because of oil.

As for the topic, maybe the Empire State has a thing for human rights violations and streets filled with the rotting corpses of baby girls. The only reason we aren’t hearing about this more is because we owe China a shit load of money. Otherwise, we would see them as the horrible leaders that they are. But until we pay them back, we must kiss their ass for mercy.

Not really - that would not be possible without time travel. I am not that old.

A dictatorship is a country were the head of state is also the supreme leader of the army and can make important decisions which affect every citizen without consulting congress or any other institution (Bush has done so more than once), were the vast majority of the media support the government and function as propaganda machinery and were the small amount of independent media are ridiculed, bashed or even shut down by those whom they may dare to oppose. In a dictatorship, a citizen could be stripped of all his rights in an instant just by being under suspicion of posing a possible “thread to the public” (read: free thinking individual who openly opposes government policy) and be held indefinetly without a fair trial or even being officially accused of a crime.

Such as the USA. I could find more points to add to my argument, but I am tired right now and do not feel my efforts would be much appreciated - rather be shunned and ignored. So that’ll have to do.
