Empire State Building lights up for China.. WTF

https://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091001/ap_on_re_us/us_empire_state_building_china

What the Hell are they thinking? Celebrating 60 years of communism, Bravo E.S.B., you’ve sided with the enemy.

PATRIOTISM FUCK YEAH

That’s a very narrow minded view. China may have a different form of government but that doesn’t mean they’re a direct opponent of America. If anything they’re a rival economic power.

China isn’t our enemy. That kind of one-track thinking is what makes the rest of the US seem like an elitist cesspool. We still trade with them, and neither side has declared war or anything. It’s a tentative relationship, maybe, but nothing like North vs. South Korea…They’ve been enemies for decades. Hell, their still at war from decades ago!

Right now, our only “real” enemies are North Korea, Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan. And out of that group, Afghanistan is the only one that attacked us. The rest merely denounced us or are led by rulers we find as insane and manic.

People like you give Americans our possibly well deserved reputation for being clueless morons and/or sheep. You clearly have no idea what is going on in the world, why are you attempting to comment on global events?

  1. The US created the government of Afghanistan and is directly supporting it with weapons and military training.
  1. The government of Pakistan receives billions of dollars of US government aid every year as well as direct CIA air support for their military operations.
  1. The former government of Afghanistan, before the US deposed them, never attacked the US, and were in high-level talks with US oil companies and had representatives in Washington DC as recently as the late 90’s. And had their roots in CIA-funded operations in the region.
  1. Iran is our enemy because the CIA overthrew their government in 1959

  2. North Korea is our enemy because we lost a proxy war against them (and their leader is insane and manic).

The first two make sense but for number three, no they never attacked us directly, but they did shelter Al Quieda (spelling?), for number 4, what has that got to do with anything? And for number 5, no, they are not our enemy because we lost a war against them. Had we not gone to war they would still be our enemy.

On topic, celebrating another Country’s anniversary of being opprosive rulers for 60 years seems strange, but we are now a country which acts shocked when Iran, IRAN, lies to us and we threaten “strong economic sanctions” against them. The horror.

i almost raged

Sorry, but Al Quaeda still has roots in Afghanistan. Since Bin Laden is from Afghanistan and orchestrated 9/11, I consider the country an enemy. Sure, it may be that they are attempting to root out Al Quaeda, but until they do, they’re not good in my book.

Besides, Afghanistan was the target to begin with. I’m not one of the ignorant fucks who said “All Muslims deserve to die, let’s go to Iraq and spread the wealth.” Afghanistan was the target, and Bush fucked it up. We never really finished there, and until we do, I still consider them an enemy. Consider this, suppose a UK man was bleeding to death and an man from Afghanistan had a knife in his chest. Both need your help, but are quickly dying. Who would you save?

Keep in mind, I’m basing our enemies on my beliefs. I don’t care if the government is naive and gives money to countries who don’t deserve our aid. That’s why I never supported the War in Iraq, and always believed we should have been helping them especially after we turned the fucking place into an insane asylum. I’m not a drone of the government.

Awesome. Once again, I don’t care what the fuck happens with our government. I group them as an enemy because they house one of the US’s greatest living enemies. And until the Pakistani government actually puts our funds to work and makes some headway into finding the fucker, I have no reason to consider them friends. Who knows what’s going on behind their doors. They could be hiding him for all the fuck we know.

Hey, we also helped Bin Laden in the past to run out the crummy Soviets. We were good buddies. Hey, forget 9/11. Since he was a good friend…We’ll forget the affair. Come here, Bin Laden, give me a hug!

Unless you plan to go back in time and live there, bringing up the past is a weak argument.

At this point, I’m not really sure if you’re agreeing with me. I’m assuming, from the overall tone of your post, you’re not.

Not really. True, we did overthrow their government, but now we don’t like them because Ahmadinejad is a fucking loony who might have access to nuclear weapons (read: might).

Also the fact that the country is extremely suppressing of humanity. And we don’t like that.

And because their communist. Don’t forget that part. =P

Technically, the war is still going (we’re no longer a part of it), but, like most countries, we don’t like Kim Jong Il’s actions and manner. He’s psychotic, and
probably has nuclear weapons. Of course, our manner towards North Korea not unlike most countries now.

Korea was a draw, anyway.

Winged:
You seem to be deeply confused about the difference between your own personal opinion, the opinion of Americans at large, and the official position of the US government. It’s irrelevant to international relations which nationalities you personally consider to be “not good,” and your supporting argument as to why the rest of America should hate the people you hate is dead wrong in every example. :expressionless:

4 and 5 are fine, but 3 seems to be confusing Al Queida with Afghanistan, and 1 and 2 I agree with you (Mattamuse).

First, it’s hard to definitively peg an enemy that the whole country sees as bad. Obviously, what I see as our enemy is my belief. At no point was I trying to state without doubt what our country thinks. It’s all my opinion. You, sir, fail.

Also, yes, China is communist. But I was joking about that part, thus “=P”. I don’t care about communism. And I don’t know why we have to have such a stigma about it.

As for “suppressing humanity,” they’ve evolved from their Tienanmen Square days. They’re certainly more liberal than Iran or North Korea.

Keep telling yourself that mate, but we all know it’s not true.

What’s that supposed to mean?

Osama Bin Laden is a fucking Saudi and he did not plan the Trade Centre bombings.

And Pakistan isn’t harbouring Al Queda, but the Taliban are gradually taking over most of the northern area.

I’m also quite pleased about the shitstorm I have invoked here.

Who the fuck planned 9/11, then? The government?

EDIT: Forget it, you’re from Australia. You obviously have no idea of the magnitude of what happened here. Or that the government wouldn’t stage such a huge terrorist attack.

Not sure in all honesty, but Bin Laden is simply acting as a figure head for the organisation, the real brains are elsewhere.

EDIT: Apparently is was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, according to the authorities.

I’m not saying the government did it, you’re just being stuck up faggot now.

Yeah, he was acting under orders from Al Qaeda.

Hit the nail on the head.

Fail.

That’s all I have to say on the matter. No use feeding the troll.
