Elite marines

So here’s a question for you: with the triumphant return of Impulse 76 being useful, can we summon an entire fireteam (x grunts, then a sergeant)?

I’ve been wanting to put together a HL related nerd punk band :retard:. i think i’ll take you up on that offer.

…i don’t recall them saying impulse 76 would be re-introduced

Technically, it wouldn’t be “re-introduced” - Half-Life 2 had “impulse 76” as a valid code. Typing it would cause the game to spawn a “Grunt”, but since there weren’t any npc’s by that name, it would just give you an error message.

The code worked for me in HL1. But you had to restart the game. I enjoyed it quite a bit  Going to Xen with that code made some epic battles…but I am guessing that console commands might work? The impulse command wouldn’t be useful if you just could spawn NPCs.

For the opening post, as many people might have stated, there are no new units being added to the game :expressionless: HL units = BM units.

If your lucky maybe you’ll get a quip like “Freeman just offed the Sarge, take him down”… then all the marines become enraged… :3

I’m almost certain it’s wrong that I read that as ‘then all the marines become engorged’!

Now it become new rule of zombie survive, that movie is awesome.

The HECU are a highly trained MARSOC detachment specializing in Close Combat and Unconventional Warfare. In other words, they are Elite Marines.

That’s a great addition to the AI routines, but I don’t think that the zombies should behave like a squad, they don’t seem like the kind to ambush you or even communicate amongst themselves.

So, why do I keep getting ambushed in Ravenholm? :fffuuu:

And we don’t (or at least I don’t) know if they use their sounds to communicate somehow.

^ Truth.

Locate one bit of OFFICAL information indicating the HECU are supposed to have any ties to marines.

I don’t know if there is any actual official info, But who the hell else would they be.
I assume Valve told Gearbox they were marines when they were developing Opfor.

The real question is, who cares? They’re bad-ass soldiers out to kill you. That should be enough.

the only bad ass ones i can think of are the Heavy Hgrunts that where removed they will own you in sven co-op. to bad they will not be in this.

Those were just regular black cigar-smoking grunts with a minigun.

Im thinking the same thing as Faleiro,

If the others follow the leader of the squad if you killed the squad leader will the others be less coordinated without him?

I am loving the Devs even more now.

Military nuts, who get their panties in a knot because the HECU aren’t accurate enough compared to real world marines. They don’t have to be, because they aren’t. It avoids a lot of arguments.

There’s not really a lot to marines to screw up though.
