Elite marines

Wow, that’s rather something!
I had never noticed this kind of behavior in HL - hadn’t even known it existed!

Will the red beret be the only distinguishing factor of the squad leader, or will he have some kind of custom animation - making hand motions to signify giving orders, for example?
Ram’s post seems to suggest that the red beret will be the only distinguishing factor, though.

Zombies playing dead? I’ll have to use the double tap method. (zombie land)

IIRC, the squad leaders did such a thing in the original Half-Life as well. I seem to recall the guys in the berets making ‘go go go!’ motions to the rest of their squad on occasion.

Also they would, unlike their comrades, use the SMG’s grenade launcher.

I’d assume both of these behaviors would be in BM:S as well for said grunts.

Uh…There were the cigar guy grunts with AR grenades too; The heads depended on the weapon (Helmet had a 9mmAR, Skimask had a shotgun, and cigar guy had AR grenades) And the commander flag set them to be the guys with berets.
Shotgun and 9mmAR could have grenades, too, but those affected nothing visually.
Anyone in a squad would share info with their squadmembers, but only commanders could give orders. I think.

and if you kill the commander do the rest fight less effectively?

this post made my day ,god bless you

You’re saying this as if you’re in charge of the mod.

No.

You tell him λdam. Imagine someone suggesting something in the suggestions forum.
He’ll have to make do with elite marines with slightly more health, that deal slightly more damage, and that direct any other nearby grunts, and have special berets.

uh, nice.

Do the human squads strategies and capabilities get worse when their leaders die? Does it couse any sort of confusion?

It lowers their morale, breaking the squad and decreasing the unit’s effectiveness in battle.
Oh, wait… That’s Dawn of War…

There were no “orders” to be spoken of. Every grunt had the “go go go” animation and would use them from time to time. They didn’t mean anything, they just looked cool. I’ll always remember that one sergeant during on a rail who greets you at the top of a lift by waving to his comrades and firing a grenade at your face.

just wondering do the Agrunts tell the vorts what to do. based on the squad IA thing.

No. As I know, who tells the vorts what to do is Nihilat and his minions (which I forgot the name)

Nihilanth and the Controllers.

Anyone want to start a band???

Thanks.

Oh, and by the way, the Agrunts take orders just like the Vortigaunts, but with some kind of “alien assault weapon”.

I thought the same thing. :retard:

Lol me too! Haha, that’d be awesome.
