I don’t remember seeing a topic on this yet, anyone else here interested in it? I tried the Beta and was impressed, so I got it with my Christmas money.

I like the idea of the game, but of course I cannot really afford it. Still hoping it may go free to play in the future…
I’m really excited about this.
But then I remember that was excited for SW:TOR as well.
And GW2.
It seems this may not release on Steam.
Not that I care, just curious.
And Aion for me.
I had such high hopes for TOR also. And to be fair it was pretty decent and had a lot of good ideas. But between the ridiculously awesome cutscenes and all the claims Bioware was making that it would be completely new and play like nothing else…well it was more or less impossible for the game to live up to such high expectations.
I don’t think I’ll ever really get into another MMO unless, and I can only dream, Bioware makes a Mass Effect MMO that plays just like Mass Effect. I would be over the moon. It’s not even that far-fetched either. I mean Global Agenda was almost exactly that and it was awesome, it just lacked content, particularly single player story-based missions, which Bioware is great at. And they did a great job with ME3’s multiplayer and a pretty job with TOR’s PvP IMO, so it wouldn’t be like a shot in the dark or anything.
Anyway, daydreaming aside, I might end up giving ESO a shot. My brother in law has been playing and he seems to like it, so I might give in and try it out. Does it play more like an Elder Scrolls game or more like a traditional MMO?
If I ever play it, it’ll probably be a few months after it comes out. I’m waiting to see if it ends up like every recent MMORPG that isn’t World of Warcraft or EVE.
I wonder what the fact that I opened Rot’s link, saw that you need to enter your birthday, and couldn’t be bothered so I just closed the tab says about me…
I’ve been playing the same skyrim character for 2 years and still haven’t beat the game.
Not interested in several hundred dollars a year for a t-rated game with no mod support, regardless of how great the character creation looks
Played the beta. The game is alright. I’ll probably buy it but I doubt I’ll enjoy it for as long as I have skyrim.
I’m going to wait till it goes free 2 play.
The thing that I like about it is that you can play with friends, and I really love the way you level up. The crafting system is really nice too.
I usually don’t get into MMOs, I’ve tried Everquest 2, LotR Online, some cheap fallout knockoff and pretty much hated them all, Pirates of the burning sea was decent, but I never really got into it either. Something feels really solid about ESO though, to me.
I was in a server stress test beta, t’was pretty fun alone, but it’s ten times more fun if you drag a friend along. I’ll probably be playing it with said friend.
I just wanted diablo-style coop in skyrim/future TES games not an MMO where they are completely disregarding established lore
You’re talking about a game series where the ability to mod the game is a formal part of the lore. I’m none too stressed about the canon myself.
“wrong thread”
I just got an email about an upcoming beta stress test thing, so yay! Hope the game is fun enough to warrant installing, as I’m kinda short on HDD space…
Same, yay.
Me too.
The Steam widget thing on your post says you’re playing the beta - did the code give access before the weekend stress test? (or is it just the client downloading?)
I was updating the client because a giant patch came not long ago after the last beta.
Ah, okay.
I think the download is going to take more than 10 hours
