I just bought a mic and I am using a headphone.
When I was testing it with my steam setting, the dang voice start echoing until I stop the test.
Anyway to take care of it?

It’s supposed to echo during the test, to show you that the microphone is working.
Use the windows sound recorder.
Try turning down the volume
That means that the mic is picking up the sound (somehow) through the speaker. At least that’s the way it was for me.
That’s normal, Fong, now what you DON’T want to be hearing is buzzing, silence, or garbling.
I am using the headphone and yet it echoing annoying.
It was fine in the first day, but the problem come next in second day.
Headphone, I don’t have speaker on.
mute mic/line in in playback devices and make sure stereo mix is not the default recording device
Yeah, it has been take care of.
I need another kind of help.
I begin to recording ingame footage with fraps along with my voice, but the game volume is really high no matter how low I set it in option of the game and it cover up my voice real good.
So I need to set the game volume really low but keeping my voice loud enough to hear.
Under sound options you can increase the volume of your mic. Increase it until it matches the game then lower the master volume of everything.
I see, thanks. Everyone who posted here have been useful.
