EA is the worst company in US

https://consumerist.com/2012/04/congratulations-ea-you-are-the-worst-company-in-america-for-2012.html

I’ve heard they were going to fire again some employee. Around 500-1000.

They never learn. The bosses make the mistakes, but instead getting fired, they fire the guys who aren’t responsible for the bad structure and who work their asses off to make the games.

All of this. ^

EA seem to be getting in the brunt of the blame for BioWare’s piss poor ending of Mass Effect 3. EA could have taken the feedback about the ending on board and said OK then we’ll get BioWare to do a satisfactory ending but we’ll charge another $10-$15 for it. That’s what I expected to happen. Instead it’s just going to be a load of extra cut scenes that ‘maintain the artistic direction intended while doing more to explain the ending’ - still the same red, blue or green lights ending and nothing of what we were promised.

EA obviously do put too much pressure on developers, just look at Battlefield 3, rushed out before it was ready and as a result is still broken on PC 6-7 months after release. They were the straw that broke the camels back when it came to GAME’s administration and sale (although they were in a lot of trouble before that). There’s also the abomination they call origin on PC that is still in beta!

Not buying any more EA stuff.

Can’t Bioware and all the other butt-fuckees change publishers? Or has EA fucked them with a permanent contract?

It’s the standard 2 year hotdog contract

Syndicate was blown too. And that with Starbreeze developing it.

EA is doing well, sales and profits are up. They’re only taking fire because of butthurt hippies that (for some reason) want to blame the quality of their published games on them rather than the people actually developing them.

edit:

note that I’m talking about sales only.

Sure, not providing a half-decent customer support after officially claiming the responsibility is very well. Just as well as not commissioning any patches after releasing broken games.

Shit, Jeannot, cocksureness in your posts is always so hilariously moronic.

Well Bioware joined EA back in, what, 2009? I guess they think they’re doing well for themselves.

Im no fan of EA, they really do seem very greedy! I have seen them get worse and worse! People tend to say they will never buy from Bioware/EA again due to bad ending of Mass Effect 3 (though I had no problems with it, but it could have been better)

I would love to just not buy any games from EA, but the fact is many more fantastic games are going to come out published by EA and thousands will buy from them, so unless everybody does not buy from them anymore, all you are doing is shooting your self in the foot.

I dont want to miss out on some good titles just because of EA.

I guess I can only hope that recent events will make them think a bit harder and not be so greedy!

I really do hate EA though!!

you are relatively miss informed.

please do not post on matters in which you dont know what youre talking about.

Hyperbole, hyperbole, hyperbole.

EA might not be the fucking Mother Theresa of videogames but calling it the worst company in all of the USA is just fucking ridiculous and proves how fucking stupid the internet crowd can get as an opinion maker.

I cant really say for sure that what i say is truth or not, but i think that they just dont want to miss release dates they have set. I mean sure they allow for a small setback in publishing but wont go far past thier initial release date.

The most recent big game that was FUBAR i can think of was the MMO SWTOR. That game was atleast 4 - 6 months away from an official release (Developement Wise). The most basic part of an MMO is fealing like you are in control of the character, but they didnt even have that right when they released the game. Some abilities didnt even work let alone react when you wanted it to. The UI was hard set and you couldnt do anything with it, for some users some parts of the UI were overlapping others ive heard (low res users). So basicaly you were not just fighting a boss in a flashpoint but also the UI and the hurendous amount of bugs the bosses themselves had. Im pretty sure the Devs wouldnt have wanted it released in that state or the game testers themselves needed sacking.

I dont know if you would argue its becuase of money and they want the investment back or becuase they just dont want to disapoint with release dates, but it always seems that games fail from them becuase of bugs, which comes down to not enough testing time and build time for the Devs.

Well, when it’s about transparently fucking over it’s customers, it’s pretty up there on the scale. It doesn’t matter what the company does, they could sell fucking teddy bears for all it’s worth. If they sold the bears the way they sell games; full price for a torso and then 40% full price per limb a few months afterwards, then you bet your ass they’d be the one of the worst companies out there regardless.

That being said, it’s not the very worst in the US in my opinion, but it’s up there. At least other companies lie and cheat their way around customers. EA just grabs them by the collar and bitch slaps the money out of em. That being said, the customers are just as guilty.

thank you.

Honestly I think its because the only press I saw that contest get was on gaming news sites. So all the gamers went there and since they tend to be younger and have less experience with other business voted for the one they knew about.

2.25/3 of the recent BioWare games I’ve bought have been shit.

I’m not defending EA, but ever since BioWare has gone over to EA, they have put out bad games.

The games I’m talking about are Dragon Age 2, SWTOR, and Mass Effect 3. DA2 was unnecessary with no improvements to the bad combat other than making it faster. SWTOR bit off more than it could chew, the stories were mostly good, but the gameplay was a huge step back from their biggest competitor, which is 7 years older. ME3 is great so far, but I’m reluctant to beat it because of what I’ve read and heard about the ending.

tl;dr BioWare is getting worse, if it’s their own doing or EA’s corruption spreading, I don’t know.

I just don’t believe that this Bioware is the same company that made Jade fucking Empire. I can’t think of any possible way it WASN’T EA somehow. It’s like if valve suddenly started sucking if they were bought out…hahahahahaha. Or if Pixar suddenly went to shit after being officially bought by Disne-- Cars 2. FUCK. At least Brave looks promising :s

Nexon is buying EA MUAHAHAHAHA!

I’d like to see it happen
