EA Buys Pop-Cap

:frowning:

Rest in peace, popcap.

There aren’t going to be terrible yet. It usually takes a little bit after EA buys a company for it to become complete shit.

Edit: You fans can also look forward to the inevitable company that will be formed by former Pop-Cap employes.

Doing gymnastics right after being bitten by an uncurable, lethal, venomous snake does not make you any less dead.

Damn. Why can’t Valve buy up more independent developers. I mean, even more than they already do.

Because independent != good they only buy the people who they want to work with / think are talented.

EA buys anything with previous success that indicates it will make money.

What is going on here. EA makes good games too. Just because they buy Popcap it doesn’t mean R.I.P. Popcap. EA is the biggest sympathetic publisher beside Activision and Ubisoft.

But they killed Westwood :frowning:

Yeah, that was long time ago. Still terrifying what happened to the Command & Conquer Series.

But EA did get better since then. They are better than some other Publishers atm.

Not saying much.

As long as they don’t buy CD Projekt RED, I’m happy… :stuck_out_tongue:

So did they sell anything to buy this one?
Remember back in 2009? THEY FUCKING KILLED PANDEMIC JUST FOR BUYING PLAYFISH

Does this mean the market is going to get flooded with multi-platform Zuma games now?

PvZ2 and Peggle 2 using Unreal Engine 3 IMO.

I expect four dozen Madden Peggle 20XX games.

Plants vs. Soccer Manager I want

Plants Vs Russians and Bejewled: red horizon inb

Well said, really!

Yeah popcap, see westwood. EA are not good.

Better than Activision at the moment.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
