Indeed.
The Wii U…
I really don’t understand why Nintendo is sticking with resistive touchscreens and styli. Other than the lack of a glass panel, maybe it’s for something lighter and (maybe) more durable? I’m not so sure about the latter- consider how the Vita seems to prove itself incredibly tough with its own glass screen. Just look at all those drop test videos… I don’t think durability is much of an excuse anymore.
The concept of a screen in a controller for a home console… isn’t the Wii U going to be an “HD” console? Playing games on an 854*480 screen kind of defeats that purpose. Yes, I know that you can just use a TV anyway. Nintendo trying to do new, original things shows good intentions, and I applaud good intentions, but this “the more screens the merrier” philosophy is starting to get unnecessary and redundant, IMHO. Overall, it just seems like a gimmicky addition.
Hopefully, we might see some screen-less controllers with a more traditional form factor- maybe a cross between a GameCube controller and a Wii Classic controller. Hopefully it will be something you can really get a grip on. They will probably come in white.
Microsoft might have a Halo 4 demo…
And, of course, we really need a high-resolution, surround-sound stereoscopic 3D remake of Pong: Pong-2012-HD-3D-special-edition! It can have the same graphical style as the original, but in HD and 3D! So, of course, you know it has to be better since it has both (rather than one) of those two letter acronyms in its description! Because it’s so amazing, it’s going to cost $70 to help cover extensive development costs! And don’t forget about the paid DLC- different colors for the game! For example (if you’re a moron), purple and yellow. Just buy the color combinations you want- $10 each of course. There will be online multiplayer mode as well for an additional $5.
