DVD to Ipod

Okay, so I wanted to put some videos onto my iPod from a DVD, but when handbrake rips the DVD I just get a fuzzy mess. Does anybody know how to rip a video from an encrypted DVD?

Follow this tutorial. Once you have the .vob file(s) you want, just convert it into a .mp4 format with the parameters you want.

Hmm, about an hour after I had posted this I found a decrypter that worked, it rips them as hd though, so I am using Handbrake to convert them so they are suitable for my Ipod Nano (the fat one)

EDIT: It was called DVDFAB

Sorry if it doesn’t matter anymore but, yeah, Handbrake cannot decrypt by itself. I use DVD43 for that though. So, open DVD43, insert disc, and then rip with Handbrake.

The real question is why you would ever want to watch a movie on an iPod.

Just because it’s a DVD does not mean it contains a movie.

EDIT: Ohshi my sig is invisible.

The one time I did it I used dvdfab and handbrake. More trouble than it was worth, honestly. If I really need a movie on my iPod I’ll just rent it from itunes (:fffuuu

I still use VLC to transcode movies for my ipod nano G1.

I would agree with you, but the decently large screen of the iPod Tocuh is amazing for movies on the go!
