He says that just because people drove worse on alcohol means that there is no hazard of driving while stoned.
Actually that’s not what he says.
Actually, he didn’t. He died from cerebral edema caused by an allergic reaction to Equagesic, a painkiller/muscle relaxer. The cannabis claim comes from Lee’s doctor who said that the death was definitely caused by cannabis. Later, however, the neurosurgeon performing the autopsy said, “Professor Teare was a forensic scientist recommended by Scotland Yard; he was brought in as an expert on cannabis and we can’t contradict his testimony. The dosage of cannabis is neither precise nor predictable, but I’ve never known of anyone dying simply from taking it.”
i know that really but if bruce lee diddnt die of weed where does that leave my nunchuck thesis.
Which is a direct result of it being illegal.
It’s socially unacceptable because it’s been illegal for decades. It’s thought of as cool because it’s socially unacceptable. Teenagers like to be rebellious.
I’m pretty sure the standards of “doing well in school” here are pretty damn high
A lot of the people I know went to and graduated from the same high school I went to for five years but didn’t graduate from. That school basically bullied you out (and I mean the faculty, not the students) if you didn’t do pretty damn well.
The reason I had to switch schools had nothing to do with weed, as I didn’t even do it that much then.
Or maybe weed just isn’t addictive? Really, pretty much everyone I know has done weed, none of them are addicted.
My own dad used to do weed all the time. But at a certain point he hadn’t even smoked one joint in years, and he barely realized it.
The social stigma is the cause of nearly all the problems you experience with weed.
Interesting thread here, didn’t read everything though, just the first and the last few pages.
I live in the Netherlands aswell(Friesland to be exact). So it’s legal here, but almost everyone I know here does not do weed. Personally I don’t think I would ever do it, because I was raised on a Christian school which quite stressed the importance of not taking any drugs.
I don’t think legalizing makes more people use it, in fact, with good education and regulations I think it can make the amount of users smaller. I do know though, that especially in the Randstad area(Amsterdam-Rotterdam-The Hague) there are a lot of weed smokers.
As for if it’s right or wrong to use weed, I really think it’s a matter of personal opinion and how you were brought up. I think people should make a choice of using weed or not, but I won’t ever use it.
I drink beer & trappist… Loads of it… Though I’ve never been drunk :< Guess that runs in the family (only with beer though… Let me drink 2 glasses of Vodka and I’m down before you can say “Na zdorovje”). I mainly drink it because it tastes good (talking about proper beer here, not the usual everyday horsepiss of Heineken and the likes).
I’ve never done marijuana, mainly because I have good friends that don’t apply peer pressure on those that don’t want to smoke, and also because I don’t really need enhancers to have a better time. I’m more than capable enough of having a good time with friends, without weed (or beer for that matter, but as I said above, I don’t drink to get drunk, I drink because I like the taste).
I don’t have an problems with the drug itself though, I find it a perfectly fine product if used in moderation. Hard-drugs, on the other hand… Well, let me just say that junks are in my top 3 of most irritating twats.
I smoke weed from time to time and I got a 33 on my A.C.T.
I think it’s more of a problem that smart people smoke weed and become lazy, or are already.
I don’t snort coke to get high, I just like how it smells
How about this: We don’t drive while under the influence of anything and we can be a happy society and I don’t have to be worried about some drunk/stoned driver going out of his lane and killing me.
That’s what people try to do but it’ll never work. If you’re drunk ( and I mean really, really drunk or high (not just Marijuana but stuff like heroïne, or cocaïne) you often forget you’re not supposed to drive at that time.
How about this - we grow out of our propagandized mindset and accept the scientific research that proves DWH doesn’t cause accidents.
unless you become distracted by shiney things in someone elses car…
I think the whole issue of drink driving and driving high is just a question of common sense. The best way to be sure if you’re capable of driving is if you can ride a pedal bike, try doing it when you’re hammered and if you fall off, you know you’re not safe to drive and you have a scar to remind you
Two different issues
I have some kind of kidney problem at the moment. I didn’t think my drinking would catch up with me so soon. There’s a chance it could be a bad infection or stones.
I hope its the infection!
what i was saying was that regeradless of what you are at the time in question it just comes down to common sense, if you’re dancing with the faries don’t drive, if you can’t stand up don’t drive, if the only way to stop the world from spinning round is to lie down don’t drive etc
You’ve obviously never been high.
^This. You don’t see fairies when high. You see perfectly fine, and the world isn’t spinning either.
Unless you are also drunk.
