Should alcohol be illegal?
Alcohol is a dangerously addictive drug that brings upon hallucinations and damages both your mental and physical health. So why is it regarded in every society as the OK thing to take? In England it puts a tremendous strain on the NHS, with one in five cases being alcohol related, and it ties up a lot of Police time, with nearly half of all violent cases being alcohol related. So the question is why is alcohol still legal? And is it not hypocritical of those who “despise” drugs to drink alcohol?
Should cannabis be legal?
Based on the above argument, if alcohol is legal why not cannabis? Cannabis can cause a lot of mental health problems later on in life but you cannot overdose with cannabis; it won’t make you violent and is not addictive. Imagine how different a country would be if we didn’t drink but smoked cannabis, would we still see a strain on the NHS by stoners? Would we see the same statistic for cannabis causing violent crime? I’m not saying that cannabis should be legal, but if a far more dangerous drug is, why isn’t it?
