Draw!

Any bets going on how long before Patonki comes in here to piss on your parade?

what have i done to you seriously

m4rek, the amount of butthurt you are showing is quite high.

thanks a lot

A album cover i did for a failed band… what a waste of my time. Thanks for the nice feedback about the other one, i sent another reply but it might have gone somewhere else, Ive never used a forum before lol.

Am I not allowed to hate you and have a very low opinion of you for things other than those enacted directly upon me?

I haven’t done any drawings as I’m not skilled as an artist, but judging by the quality of some of the pictures posted in this thread, it seems like this is the place to come to for some advice/knowledge. I build 1 : 35 scale armour models and one of the things that I have always struggled with is the weathering. What has this got to do with drawing? Well, I’m guessing that some of the techniques for shading/highlighting in 2D drawings can be translated to 3D subjects such as models. So my question is this, does anyone have any hints and tips about making a model look old/dirty/weathered using drawing or painting techniques?

dude you haven’t posted a single drawing, and preach about proportions?
the beauty of that drawing is that despite the messed up proportions, the large heads, hands, and skinny long legs, is that you still get emotion out of it, or at least I do.
you can feel it, and that’s something that doesn’t Necessarily need proportion.
I mean, think what you will about it, that’s the point.
It’s great that it actually makes you analyze and look into it.
“it doesn’t follow it’s own rules”

.< Patonki, you retard, there ARE no rules.
EDIT: you dick.

inb4 padonkey on that last pic:hmph:

heheheheheheheheheheheh

i find it funny how you are bringing this “art is about emotion” argument to defend your doodles from criticism.
First thing, you obviously don’t know much about human anatomy (now is the point you latch out and go I DON’T WANT TO DRAW REALISTICALLY I WANT TO DRAW CARTOONS, understanding how the real human body works is needed in cartoons and stylization, otherwise you are stylizing what is already a stylization. )
Secondly, it’s not proportionate within itself. I don’t think it was your vision to have drastically differently sized upper limbs, and have his right hand infected with a severe case of elephantiasis.

Sure there are no rules if you want to draw nonsensical scribbles. ‘Rules’ was bad wording, I guess they are more like guidelines. If you break from them, you should have SOME reason, other than lack of knowledge.

And lastly, STOP TAKING CRITICISM PERSONALLY, it’s not directed at you, it’s directed at your work. It’s not an insut, it’s pointing out mistakes in your work, so you can avoid making them. It’s aimed at making YOU better at what you do.

Although I wasn’t at the start, I’m with patonki now. He’s actually being fairly reasonable.
Oh, and m4rek is sooo butthurt.

I thought I already posted these in this thread, but guess not.
more silly sketch-ups.
