Doug_rattman Twitter account, real or fake?

Hey guys
Sat at school the other day chillin’ like a boss during a reccess.
when suddenly a wild classmate appeared, showing me this:
https://twitter.com/Doug_Rattmann
My friend told me that there had been lot’s of indicators showing that the man behind the profile at least had to be some sort of steam insider.

One of the first things he posted was a set of binary code, that when translated would show following text:
“The hOur is coMing Our Relaxation is oveR.
this is just the calm befOre the storm Wait and see.”
during early December he’s been spitting out tons of weird transmissions(have a look at his recent posts)
numbers from these transmissions have shown to be somehow connected with the numbers shown at the right side of the screen in this award film:

So… Do you guys think that all this is indicating some sort of hints about the release of Valve’s next game? or is it just an ambitious troll making a false profile, and a bunch of random scientific shit placed in a video to make it look cool and realistic?

i think it’s fake
i think valve would use their own aperture science logo svgs or pngs for the twitter picture instead of grabbing it from some wiki

What wiki? Their profile pic is hosted on Twitter’s profile pictures server, same as every other twitter account’s.

it means the svg was obtained from a wiki

it’s fake. The creator is one of those who participated in the potato arg, but the code is real

You are making no sense

But if he participated in the potato arg, doesn’t that just make him more reliable?

If this person has no connection to valve, then these messages they’re posting are pretty odd. I’d say, if this has no connection anywhere, that this person just randomly posting stuff like this must be a pretty big fuckin weirdo.

You’d be surprised. This is, after all, the internet.

fake/thread

Yeah, Not to mention the fact that he’s following two other people that doesn’t really seem to have had any other purpose than to make him look realistic. And even these people have been posting quite a bit, although not since sometimes in April.

He was just one of those who were solving those puzzles back then.

Is this proof enough?

Dec. 12, 2011, ETA no less then 60 days. What happens on or after 2/10/12?

Dec. 10, 2011, It βegins. Did you notice the Greek letter substitution? The letter Beta?

As for the code… any thoughts? It could be coordinates, if you take the numbers in pairs. A quick check shows that they would all be Northern Hemisphere and largely in North Africa, Europe and Russia.

They’ve already stated they would be releasing another Portal 2 DLC in early 2012. I don’t know why they would start an ARG just for that.

Because they’re not starting a new one but just posting hints on a twitter account they already have?

Cool!
So he’s not fake or what? xD

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
