Well, it seems like Kickstarter is a great place to go if you’ve got a great game idea, and some experience in games industry, to get your new project/long awaited sequel funded. This might be a continuing trend within the indie community as a whole.
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, now that Double Fine had so much success I’m reading about a bunch of them popping up.
Hopefully it’s not overused. But knowing the capitalist human nature, it’s going to end up happening.
Four days left for the crowdsourced tactical shooter. Money is half-way there and new details are out about the game’s overall content, development plans, and other stuff. Plus, they promise mod tools!
They’re so very close, yet so far away. They need more time, either that or move the project to Indiegogo where they are able to receive their money even if they don’t reach their goal. $120,000 is a substantial amount of money, and if they had it on Indiegogo, they would have been at least partially funded.
Woo more games for me to throw cash at! Just backed those two. Kickstarter is becoming a gaming nostalgia drain on my wallet. Not that it is a bad thing. Got my Fallout 1 style game, my Rainbow6 game, my point n click adventure game, what other “dead” genera are we missing now that I can throw my cash at?
EDIT: Realized kickstarter has become a reverse GOG for me.
