Disturbing games

F.E.A.R was definitely one of the most disturbing for me. Little ‘faceless’ girls with black, draped hair are just fucked up.

I replayed FEAR campaign for the first time in ages last year. I only used it for online after the first time, so I downgraded to the free standalone multiplayer, FEARcombat.

But…yeah, really not as scary as I remember. There are a few bits with Alma where you spin around and BAM she’s there, but tbh they didn’t phase me. The bit that did get me edgy was right near the end, where you’re running through the warehouse with your pistol, shooting at the floating apparitions. That bit seriously unnerved me.

This may be before most of you guys’ times, but if anyone remembers Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, that game was so fucking awesome and creepy. Psychological horror before psychological horror was even a genre.

This is from Half Life 2 Beta.
If they had actually added this bit into half life, I would quit the game right then and there.

lol

This.

Also, Afraid of Monsters for Half-Life. The unraveling zombie heads are nerveshattering

I think I could have gotten into the Silent Hill and Resident Evil games more if they were in first person. Third person games are too hard to control.

Third person games are fine. Third person games with bad controls are the ones that are hard to control.

Duuuude. I know we’re talking about games here, dude. But that was like… deeeeep. On many levels. I’m going off to go explore the mysteries of fourth person gaming. Control man. All about the control.

Manhunt, AVP2 as marine, Fatal Frame and Silent hill 4 the room.

fucking fix’d

yeah, I forgot, avp 2000 as well

Don’t know if these games’ll interest anyone here, but the Yume Nikki series, and LSD: Dream Simulator are two of the most distressing games I’ve ever played.

Yume Nikki is an RPG Maker game (but not an RPG, oddly) based on a dream journal (actually, the title directly translates to dream journal, so…). The entire gameplay of the game is spent exploring the dreamscapes of the main character. It varies from slightly odd to actually pretty disturbing. The fan sequels are supposedly much worse in the distrubing content category, though.

LSD is a first person game for the original PlayStation and is similar to Yume Nikki except it’s much more random while YN is a bit more scripted and not as dynamic. (No, it’s not a drug reference. The developers claim it stands for Lovely Sweet Dream.)

Also, the white chamber. Kind of like Event Horizon, insofar as it’s set in space and hellish things happen.

And the Chzo Mythos (5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, Trilby’s Notes, and 6 Days a Sacrifice), by Yahtzee, back before he sold his soul to the Escapist. (I was a Yahtzee fan before it was cool to be a Yahtzee fan. Anyone else remember Yahtzee Takes on the World?) First horror games I played, and they still get under my skin today. Keep in mind I was like. …13 when I would have first played 5 days. It fucked me up for a while.

The creepy mansion level in Super Mario 64, damn I used to be so freaked out by the music and the ambience when I was 10. Not to mention that asshole piano that would try to bite you whenever you came within 5 feet of it.

fuck YES. That game is the scariest avp game, and possibly one of the scariest game’s ever made when you play as a marine.

Most games barely scare me, but i always get scared the f*** out of playing that. It’s especially fun when you show it to a friend who thinks he tough shit

Fatal Frame gave me a sleepless night. Especially the girl that was hanging from the tree and the man who killed children. Nightmare House 2 is full of creepout moments.

Shut up.

sorry your avatar told me to

Hmm…older game Nosferatu was scarry enough …then there is Doom 3, Half-life 2 Ravenholm level ( when I met new headcrab types and zombies, toxic one was really creepy x___x )…next I would like to try Amnesia The Dark Descent

Yeah, I’m familiar with that  Although this guy was kinda more disturbing - https://images.wikia.com/silent/images/6/67/LyingFigure.png
The mannequins were easy to run around and ignore them tbh
I forgot to mention The Thing. Played it for the first time when I was 11… I think. The moments when your teammate turns into a monster and the monsters themselves were kinda… Disturbing.

Are you retarded? Some of the funnest games out right now are third-person.

Not to mention games like GTA IV, Mafia 2…
