Disney now owns Star Wars and other Lucasarts-related stuff.

Found it on aSpanish website - that hopefully means it’s fake! :fffuuu:

At the bottom (in translate-ese):

“THE DEFORM
We are ready to invent so you laugh while we are very honest… honestly all a lie.”

Sounds like this might be a parody site.

Thank all my various gods - I was ready to jump off a bridge…

Darth Vader feels himself at home at Disney:

maybe episode 7 will showcase the Shawken device

for those who dont know what the Skawken device is some theoretical superweapon designed to create a artificial “big bang”

it would destroy the planet Shawken, sending the fragments into hyperspace, in which said fragments will crash into other planets causing a chain reaction of planet destruction, which would eventually destroy all matter in the universe

It could appear in the new movie assuming it is set RIGHT after return of the jedi

moar here:

And then there’s the Tarken, and the Galaxy Gun…

The Empire made a lot of superweapons.

i can imagine the yuuzhan vong in live action (or CGI, but knowing disney/lucasfilm, its gonna be great), the badassery of the galactic genocide while the new jedi order are found hopless due to the Vongs’ extraterrestrial nature

even moreso if they show the Vong terraformation of Coruscant (iirc the Vongs re-terraformed Coruscant to act as a new home planet; but ultimatly because of ther technophobia)

I hope they don’t do anything with any other superweapons, or any of the reborn Emperors or anything. That stuff is just crazy, and basically negates everything that happened in the OT. I’d rather they just do something completely new. Forget the Empire, just do something different. Yuuzhan Vong or whatever, just something other than the Empire and the Republic and yadayada. That’s all we’ve gotten from Star Wars since A New Hope was released, basically. Well, in visual media anyway. I know there’s plenty of books and junk and stuff, but I swore off that stuff when I realized even the best SW writers feel compelled to make up dumb words for common stuff. It’s at least as offensive as in the 50’s when everything had ‘space’ affixed to it, if not more so.

Seriously though, if Lucas originally intended a nine-movie epic, what did he intend VII, VIII, and IX to be about? It seems to me like he scrapped that idea, otherwise he should have shot those instead of the prequels, and then made the prequels later with new actors like he did anyway, that way the sequels wouldn’t have to have new actors as well. RotJ didn’t even seem to be at all open for a sequel anyway.

I would love it if they were. I freaking loved the New Jedi Order books. Plus, Kyle Katarn makes an appearance. Good thing the Extended Universe is considered canon.

In other news, Disney just bought Breaking Bad.[COLOR=’#151515’]*

[COLOR=’#151515’](No, they didn’t…)

i’d become a meth-head if that was true :frowning:

I agree completely. I fucking love Pulp Fiction by the way.

For those of you who don’t know, the original trilogy wasn’t written by George Lucas, only directed IIRC. What Lucas did was put together some designs a friend of his made (which were awesome beyond belief). Other guy wrote the story. It was far more a team effort and Lucas being put at the helm directing everything. By the prequels, he took on writing and you see how it turned out. So this is for the better, since Disney would rather become a porn distributor before they waste the millions spent on Star Wars. So a good writer is pretty much needed.

Not quite. According to Wikipedia, Lucas wrote A New Hope and co-wrote Return of the Jedi.

I know I’m late, but you are wrong on a couple accounts. Miramax wasn’t the company that produced nor published LOTR. They originally were supposed to be, but then backed out and New Line Cinema took charge.

Also, it isn’t owned by Disney anymore (it was sold in 2010).

Then what happened?

At first the prequels were okay with me, but I was about 7 when they rolled along. Rewatching them makes me cringe so hard you all have probably heard me by now. I think VGcats said it best “My love for you is like a lovely river of loving, love”.

I’m pretty sure they meant directed, since the exclusion of Empire Strikes Back implies the fact that Irvin Kershner directed that movie, but George still wrote it.

Yea… Lucas ain’t directing though

Yeah, I fucked up a long time ago. Also, my point still stands.

Which is probably a good thing, seeing as how my favorite two Star Wars movies weren’t directed by him either.
