Are we as a human race, on the right track in terms of what is happening to us? Or are we 2000 years behind? Can someone please educate me on this matter? Has things like wars slowed us down or sped up our progress? (i know its tragic all those people are dead, but if there wasn’t a single war, wouldn’t most countries be facing a population crisis? Inventions never be made up due to the war?)
Like are we behind in terms of progress of technology, medical cures and global warming?
How can we be ‘behind’ on ‘progress’ when there’s nothing to compare our ‘progress’ to?

Considering that there is no schedule, deathmonkeys right. There is absolutely no reason to consider ourselves ahead or behind of progress, as we decide what progress is.

I think he means in relation to some hypothetical race X 
from a foreign world somewhere in the universe. We always assume they are way ahead of us in terms of science and most everything else like social structure. I think that comes down to the fact most of us wants it better than what we got now. We still have military conflicts, we still have poverty.

To make progress, we need a change in direction.
Well, there’s the theory that if the Christian oppression of science didn’t happen in the Dark Ages, we’d be way ahead of where we are now.
But I call bullshit, since that period of time is as much part of our evolution as a human race as the industrial revolution.
The only thing that plays a major part in our evolution is our natural resources, look at how the population skyrocketed after the discovery of fossil fuel.
Our only hope is to find a better and more powerful alternative or we’re going back down.
