Developer quotes on release and process

God dammit. One little bit of word and /v/ goes apeshit and comes in full force.

There’s been a lot of hype about release recently, I wouldn’t read too much into it.

I’m going to remain excitement-less until a dev responds to this… :meh:
I’m not one to stay optimistic, usually.

You have a good avatar.

D:

It will be released this sunday. Or the next one. If that fails, surely it will be out by March.
Or not.

Judging by my little chat from Yesterday,
The dev’s (namely Comrade Badger and Nuclear Dan) reverted back to a When It’s Done approach… Sigh.

i believe the mod will be ready by tomorrow. if that doesn’t happen, it’s not going to be ready tomorrow, though.

also, i have arranged some days off in 2020, so i have time to play the mod when it’s released

About the webmaster’s post regarding the soon to be new black mesa website:

Supernaut (user from steam forum): I emailed Carlos, the project leader, just to make sure that this isn’t an isolated case of premature optimism, as we’ve seen many times before, that such a statement was approved by the team leaders.

Carlos Montero mailed him back :
"This was not an “approved” statement and is hardly any way any of us would decide to make an announcement of this magnitude.

Supernaut (user from steam forum): Still, he’s their Webmaster, he should have a pretty good idea of when a new website is being worked on. Either bs or damage control. After 7 years, this stuff just shouldn’t happen.

My 2 cents:
Strangely enough Hubi clearly said “WE” in his statement (“Fuck if we care about the current website”).
If this is all nothing, then there clearly is a huge lack of communication between the webmaster and the devs especially on something this huge, which is … quite weird.
Let’s hope this isn’t a demonstration of how the communication between the other black mesa devs works

Or they’re just joking. Stop looking for something behind every word they say.

Fair enough, stormseeker, but what about your answer below, is that YOUR normal answer?:

Maybe this is the beginning of an ARG(h)… Who knows.

But there are now too much signs leading and teasing to a release being soon.

GOTCHA!

I’m gonna say; webmaster ignored his alcoholism and went on a bender trying to impress ppl on the forums, and then, raminator took a good hold of his balls…and just twisted…twisted them good…twistylike

let’s just all agree that it will come out in 2012, only 11 months to go.

To me it’s still a very positive statement. It may not mean all that I want it to, but I still take it that wheels are in motion in preparation for the big day, when that day comes.

My guess…it’s coming soon.

I think it’s going to be released.

Who were you referring to?

Okay stormseeker, so rephrasing that, this is your statement:
Q: Will it ever be released? Not in a short time, right?
A: You might be surprised at just how short…

Awesome, BUT very large grain of salt considered… Hubicorn has already had to carefully rephrase his statement here https://forums.blackmesasource.com/showpost.php?p=443308&postcount=34

I’m not going in another speculating spree but despite the unofficial nature of Hubi’s and stormseeker’s posts, they all sound hopeful no matter what!

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
