Well trailer is not.
The trailer looks pretty fucking awesome.
But the song seems way too repetitive. I know lots of techno is like that, which is why I don’t like a lot of techno.

Unless the song is 20 minutes long, the amount of the song in the video is more than a “small bit” of the whole song. I felt like I could ignore it once it started looping.
Techno is generally more repetitive than other forms of music, so either you don’t mind or you do. The things electronic artists tend to focus on more are rhythm, creating unique sounds, creating a precise soundscape or feeling for each song, making build-ups that climax in intense releases, mixing tracks together well, so on and so forth. However, I do also feel the best techno is usually the least repetitive, which is why the concert Alive 2007 is my favorite of Daft Punk’s albums.
techno only bothers me when its loops over loops over more loops and it repeats on and fucking on for like 20 minutes.
The most fun thing about this discussion is that there was no techno during any moment of the video (Daft punk does not make techno).
But I guess nobody cares.
What I love most about today’s Electronica (electro house and nu rave in particular) is that it is evolving into much more than a couple guys with turntables and mixers endlessly looping beats.

Since rock is effectively dead, real talent goes there now. Justice, MSTRKRFT, Bloody Beetroots, Steve Aoki, Sebastian, Kavinsky, to name a few - those are the shit now. Daft Punk has just set the sail.

Well, yes, but most people use techno to refer to all types of electronic music, whether its actually techno or house or trance or whatever. Not quite sure why that is.

Awesome, I can’t wait. The original was the first film I saw at the cinema so it’s quite special. That soundtrack is also going to be awesome. I loved how Daft Punk were actually IN the movie.
