Dear Esther Graphics update

Isn’t that why this thread was started? I can’t remember…uuuuh-

OH YES PRETTY GRASS HUHU

Did the guy who made this thing have to make modifications to the engine itself? In other words, did he make an updated source engine?

And if he did, do you think he will release the updated engine?

It’s a mod, just like Black Mesa, so he can’t actually change the engine.

Alright, I was just asking because I couldn’t believe that the source engine was capable of this stuff. It’s pretty amazing.

I think he should post tutorials so he can help others make their mods just as good.

Yeah, he’s just gone REALLY in-depth with every configurable option imaginable :fffuuu:

You could say that again. It’s hard to believe Valve hasn’t attempted this. I mean, come on, it’s their engine for crying out loud. :hmph:

Who says they havent?

I believe we would have seen that in at least one of their games by now, if they had.

This particular mod is focused on the environment more so than most other mods or games using the Source engine. There’s no non-stop action with lots of explosions and dozens of enemies on screen.

That’s why its creator can afford to spend a lot more time on graphics and ambiance, since that’s mostly the selling point of this mod.

Also, Valve has to worry about making their games accessible to crappy computers, so they can sell more copies, which is not an issue with a free mod.

Probably something Spain related.

You’ve said Spain about over 7000 times. There’s no way that can be right. :awesome:

This meme should die. Right now. It’s not funny now and it never was funny.

It’s not like you consider anything remotely funny anyway…

I agree.

Its basically used to express the view that a thread should just die. Its not necessarily comedy gold, but it is functional.

Yeah, thats never going to happen.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
