css weird shadows

Hi there, im getting some weird shadows in css, so far ive seen it in models (weapons) and brush textures. Im not sure what is causing it.
Heres a pic

You can see the green around the barrel. It seems be worse with hdr off.

My specs are the following,

cpu: c2q q9650 @3ghz
Ram:4gb corsair ddr2 800
gpu: msi r4890 cyclone oc,
mobo: xfx 780i sli
OS: win7 x64 ult
Monitor: Viewsonic vx1933w (19" i think)
psu: 460w coolermaster

ive used so many different video card drivers from different sources
(msi and ati) and it hasnt made a difference. The only thing that has even mildly made a difference is the new engine css is running off.

any ideas?

My only thought is to exit CSS and play a decent game

but if thain doesn’t satisfy ya, go ahead to steam powered forums, check there if it’s listed in bugs, if not, post it there

but what I think, is that this screenshot of the wall is most likely a very common case of “unaligned” textures, and only person you can blame is someone who made de_dust2
Of course, if you haven’t already, update your GFX drivers and so on, and upload a bit more pictures so we can actually help without any speculation

the new update fucked up alot of things that line wasn’t there since CS 1.6

I can’t see your shadow problem

I see a shitty wall. It’s a well known fact that all the lighting on CSS weapons is just painted on.

why posting models of monitor & cooler you are using??

Maybe you have Ambient Occlusion enabled in your video drivers settings?

No. I don’t see your problem, only a fucked up wall

sigh the damn pic has been scaled down. The wall isnt hte problem.
Its teh barrel, theres green around the bottom half of the barrel and when it does that on certain weapons it covers half the gun.

ill edit the op pic with a better one of a better size. (i just checked it on a seperate computer and its still got the yuckness)

oohhh… there. no, i’ve got no idea

The bottom half of the barrel looks black to me.

Also, it may be a weird cube map file or something, I know they usually are checkerboard, but maybe this one just kinda went green or something. I still don’t really see this horrible, horrible plague of green you speak of.

Try playing a better game.

Want to know how to get rid of the green do ya?

Easy, turn the green off on your monitor…

Record a demo and then stop it, and that should fix the shadow and invisibility.

Could somebody maybe point out this green that the OP is talking about? I really don’t see it.

Yeah I don’t see any ‘green’ shadows either…

Just download a new scout off FPSB?

I can see the green hue but I think it’s a contrast/gamma problem, adjust the gamma or disable/enable color correction.

here’s how it should look I guess (keep in mind I have custom re-aligned guns because it helps me noscope)
