I wish they would just fix DoDS so its fun-levels can match the old DoD. But I doubt they’d do that, considering how they kinda slapped and spat the DoD community in the face with DoDS

They updated the details of the game, removed a load of bugs? (most probably creating new ones lol.)

For some reason, the simple gameplay and maps can still be satisfying. Personally, all I need are 3 servers to choose from: a good map rotation server, a good 24/7 dust2 server, and a good 24/7 office server, preferably all banning the awp and auto snipers. Good servers with decent players are certainly not difficult to find; you can always mute the noisy people too.

This. Specifically the bold/underlined section. Maybe with the addition of Friendly Fire, HLStats, and ManiMod. I never really played CS 1.6, but when I got CS:S as part of the HL2 pre-load, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and still play it now (sometimes just with bots, or with my girlfriend on LAN with bots, and more recently I hopped online again). I was sad when my favorite (and pretty much only) server shutdown, so I stopped playing, but they recently got a new server so let the good times roll

I wouldn’t blame him for not understanding, your attempt at humor failed. Batz’ response was appropriate.

With regards to the beta, one of the most noticeable differences is the movement, especially the strafing. Its quicker and people have been comparing it to TF2’s movement. I do not play TF2 so I cannot comment.

I think the main reason they are doing it is to make it somewhat more interesting and fun for new players. So yes, it is partly because of the Mac release, but also because they are adding features that should’ve been in a long, long time ago!
