CSS Beta

Meh, it’s CSS

CSS beta

What problems with CS exactly?

I can agree if you do not like the game style, i.e. relatively realistic/tactical multiplayer fps, but don’t blame the game and its simplicity due to exaggerated issues with the community and your impatience to find a good server. If you dont suck monkey nuts and can keep a competent ratio, CS is an enjoyable experience. Also, I believe the weapon selection is acceptable, but some guns could use tweaking. What more do you want, a fucking rocket launcher or rail gun? This isn’t UT. I do miss the riot shield however.

I’ve played CS, not as much in recent years, but since the betas ~10 years ago. For some reason, the simple gameplay and maps can still be satisfying. Personally, all I need are 3 servers to choose from: a good map rotation server, a good 24/7 dust2 server, and a good 24/7 office server, preferably all banning the awp and auto snipers. Good servers with decent players are certainly not difficult to find; you can always mute the noisy people too.

I don’t care much for CSS, but it’s nice that Valve is doing stuff with it, considering how old it is now.

I’m hopeful that this update could pave the way for HL2 and Ep1 being updated to the Orange Box engine on PC as well.

I don’t see why you quoted me. Nothing you’ve said really even responds to what I said.

You basically said CS sucks but only cited the community as your reason. My post was in response to yours.

Can you comprehend english? Perhaps it was too much at once, try reading it slower…

Obviously better than you, considering I use proper punctuation and grammar.

Everything I said in my statement was convieniently avoided in your “response” saying that I “must suck monkey balls” when I clearly stated that I do fairly well in the game, it’s just that I get tired of 8-year-olds swearing at me when I do. You can’t block text in the game, to my knowledge. You even agreed the game is monotonous, so I believe I’m certainly well within my rights to not like the game due to that.

Thank you for stating that you dislike the game due to monotony. That is a valid reason. Blaming the community and other people is not IMO.

It’s repetitive and repetitive and repetitive but somehow the simplicity makes it fun.

Gets boring after a while, but somehow I can always pick it up later and enjoy it. Good to see Valve’s doing something with it.

Maybe they’ll start a superfranchise with 298375045809435 sequels.

jk

I got it with hl2, finally tried it a few months ago. I joined a server where literally every player with a mic was a 10 year old. I proceeded to close the game. Maybe with an update it will be worth it to find these “good” servers people speak of.

options -> dounds -> enable ingame -> off
as i recall. you doofus.

Dammit all, I missed the beta by a few hours. God damn school.

I got access
its just CSS with
-achievements!
-more balanced weapons!
-polished VGUI!

Anyone complaining about 10 year olds with mics, you need to find better servers. Most of the Aussie ISP servers are awesome, with a whole bunch of full rotation ones and hardly any kids.

Might get back in to CSS if this update turns out good!

im offering sexual favors for a spot in this beta

How sexual?

actually this time around I’m not even going to follow the beta. I will obviously play it when I get the update (release quality).
I just don’t want to waste time watching incomplete stuff.

SERSOFT WANT BETA :’(

hl2dm needs an update more than cs ever did

I wish they would just fix DoDS so its fun-levels can match the old DoD. But I doubt they’d do that, considering how they kinda slapped and spat the DoD community in the face with DoDS

But yea… CSS… Never been much of a fan of the gameplay. You just buy the same weapons over and over again, you run around or camp a bit, you spray in random directions and get a bunch of headshots, you die, you watch 2 guys camping in their respective spawnpoints until one of them gets bored and quits/goes to find the other one and gets raped. Add to that the fact that it quite possibly has the worst community in the history of mankind (it’s like sersoft multiplied himself on the intarwebz), and you got yourself a very unenjoyable game.

I couldn’t care less about CS:S until their community accepts that a fullbright square box with a brick texture is a bad map.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
