I realize I am a bit late, but, can you explain to me what this means?
Now, honestly, tell me who has said that in this thread? No one.
I have to agree. Crysis to me was nothing more than a graphics whore’s boy toy. There was nothing revolutionary about it other than graphics. Terrible (and by terrible I mean the world’s worst) AI, a cliche alien story, and repetitive gameplay. Let’s hope Crytek spends maybe a day or two learning to program their AI to FUCKING USE STAIRS seeing as Crysis2 seems to have a building or two more.
He didn’t say in this thread, but if you remember the other two threads about Crysis2 here, thats a different story.
Is it so bad to say that those are all opinions and not fact? I liked some of it and not just because it was the prettiest gal at the ball. Games don’t need a good story, revolutionary anything, or good AI to be fun. Please stop being angry at a game just because some people like it and you don’t.
I’m not angry at the game. I’m not angry at anything or anyone. I was agreeing that a game shouldn’t receive as much praise as Crysis has without the developers taking the time to make it work. Do you know how many times I’ve seen enemies clustered up and stuck at the bottom of a set of stairs? I’m definitely in the hundreds now. Yes I know I’m hung up on the stair thing, but common, a bit of dedication goes a long way.
That sounds like a bug to me, I never ran into that myself. Instead I got doors on the Aircraft carrier that could not be opened. The developers really should have waited to release it, its not like it would have looked outdated, I mean hell, 2 years later it was still the best looking game around. Just think what they could have made had they spent those two years on improving the rest of the game.
Look at all those millions of sequels to Crysis. They are just everywhere.
I hope its more fun. I just wasnt happy playing Crysis, I was just walking around enjoying the graphics.
Anything you change in your map directly affects the game. If you want to tweak lightsettings or remove a tree it will change directly without having to waste precious time compiling the lighting etc.
Like Crytek says: what you see is what you play
It’s the primary reason why Crysis requires such a powerful computer, most games have a lot of pre-calculated stuff to improve performance but in the CryEngine it’s all calculated in real-time.
I recently re-installed and played through Crysis Warhead, and not only did I get the performance boost over Crysis that I was supposed to get the first time around, I believe I now understand why there are aliens and enemy soldiers in NYC. So… yay!
Look at the new in-engine trailer. It’s funny how much they had to hold back for Crysis 2, it will look worse than the original but will require twice the power to run it.
PC gaming, held back by 5 year old console technology.
That was the console trailer that was shown off in New York, according to ign, " When asked if PC gamers need to be worried that the performance ceiling on the consoles will set a lower limit on the PC presentation, Cevat said that the team is fully committed to taking full advantage of the PC’s expanded graphics power."
I believe they are just pushing the console version more because that’s probably their new target audience.

It’s not worse. Just different.
Also, here’s an in-game screenshot:
Yep. Looks like shit, right?
Not that I care. The first game was an overrated tech demo. I’m much more excited about Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which is a PSP game.
Wrong. The console version of Crysis 2 is worse than the PC version of Crysis 1 which is my real point.
That screenshot is the game being played on High on the PC version.
And your opinion about the first game? Yeah? Well that’s like your opinion man.
You said the PC version (or heck, you said PC gaming in general) was being held back by consoles. I was proving you wrong by posting a screenshot of the PC version, which is masturbatable and down right gorgeous.
This should make it all clear to you, edited for your reading convenience.
[color=’#121212’]I sure got john, he doesn’t know I’m not actually that stupid.
I lol’d
Peh, They didn’t put it on console because they made an excuse about it being too powerful for consoles to play. So, not even the PS3 could play it. I find that strange. They could have at least released it on PS3. We all know it would have worked on it.
I do agree with the fact that a lot of people weren’t into it since there were many hackers on the game and it never came out on a console. So, how exactly would they be able to put Crysis 2 on a console? For us PC geeks, we probably gonna have to upgrade once again to even be able to play since it may have next gen graphics
So how does everyone like the new trailer?
Everyone please ignore the stupid post by a certain weaboo, please, you can’t argue with stupid.
Do you even know what that means?
It means someone who is obsessed with anime or anything Japanese.
I don’t watch anime and Metal Gear Solid is barely classified as “weeaboo” material.

Then I’ll stop arguing with you.
