I only recently found a reason to buy the first Crysis:

Somehow I feel that this is going to degenerate into yet another Console Fags vs PC fags thread, but whatever.
Well, it’s not like CryTech will be holding any punches for the PC version. But if they can optimize the hell out of the engine, it’s possible that the console version will look awesome, though not as awesome as the PC version.
Oh, and is anyone else sick games selling themselves on “amazing” and “realistic” graphics? Because I am.
Yes, what good is a game if it has shit game-play?
Though i know it probably won’t be the case, it would be nice to see console players get a shitty port for once so they know how it feels. :hmph:
You realize that shitty ports aren’t exclusive to PC games, right?
Just ask any PS3 owner before developers started giving a shit about it.
This. As a owner of all 3 consoles and WIN computer, I can completely agree.
Consoles vs PCs =
Whatever you prefer to play on.
Actually, from what we’ve seen so far it DOES look better.
Cryengine 2 was optimized like shit. It ran unnecessarily slowly. This is optimized out the ass and may actually be good. I mean they did beter on warhead than they did with Crysis vanilla, so Crysis 2 can’t be much worse.
I dont think consoles can produce graphics anywhere near crysis max’d out, im not a console hater tho. My PS3 can produce some very good visuals but even game like Killzone 2 or Heavy Rain have to make compromises somewhere in the visual department to keep framerates steady on hardware from 2006.
Of course they can’t, but as long as it looks good and plays well, it doesn’t matter.
Want to have a reason for us to hate consoles? Here’s one: more and more games turn into money cashcows by removing support for features like dedicated servers. Games are now developed for the consoles then ported for PC support instead of the other way around. The only reason they do this is because more people have consoles (there’s a lot more profit to make)
This is limitting the progress in game development and Crytek knows that (they support the PC community to its full extent). Luckily for the game developers they have the perfect excuse: piracy
The PC isn’t the biggest fish in the water anymore. It’s still good, but times have changed. The market has changed. Get used to it.
Oh yeah, and guess who fucking called it?!
Hint:
Just because it isn’t, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be.
Of course you would say that. You’re a PC owner. I’m sure there were many console gamers were pretty pissed when the PC was getting special treatment.
I like the pc for mods and dedicate d servers, but consoles are great as well, just depends on what you are used to I guess.
I’m discussing, you’re just making it what you want it to be by making such posts.
Need I remind you games are still developed on the computers, downgrading game engines and games so they can profit from casual gamers is not good for the development of games.
If FarCry 2 can manage itself on consoles with a modified CryTek 2 engine, I’m pretty sure CryTek 3 can handle itself pretty well on a console without looking like the TV screen and GPU was wiped on a horse’s ass…
…But it still won’t change the fact that the gameplay sucks.
I lol’d.
Just because they don’t use the same platform as you do does not make them casual gamers.
Far Cry 2 runs on the Dunia engine which is a modified verion of the Crytek 1. TBH its really not that great looking of a game on pc or console, the shadow draw distances suck cause their really close to u and since most of the time ur in a desert with yellow sand those super sharp black shadows are really noticible when they draw in.
You’ve said it yourself, the largest market is the console market, a lot of those people are casual gamers.
Yeah, you get loads of douschefags saying they are the best and they take it far too seriously, then kick you when you kill them once.
