he was complaining how bad tesselation is used.
Ahhh… so many complainers… Just wait and see how your beloved bf3 turns out to suck…
Not gonna happen .
Okay then.
The parallax occlusion mapping on the floor is fucking awful. Case closed
I have a 5770 also and I am sad it cant use this.
Still a shit game.
Don’t be sad for this game, believe me. A 2011 game that is suppose to be one of the best looking games ever made and… it doesn’t support SLI, or to play in SLI, the game disables Anti-Aliasing, and other post-processing features, motion blur looks awefull… Really not worth it. I’d never purchase that game if I knew this.
I mean, there are games which are console ports like NFS Hot Pursuit and they support SLI, Anti-Aliiasing and look fantastic on the PC.
It’s just stupid
Oh yeah, I’d completely forgotten that if a game’s not the most beautiful game in the world, it sucks.
You missed the point. The thing is the game looks aweful in SLI. I’d rather play Portal2, HL2 E2, Medal of Honor, BC2, you name it, because despite not having those all new features like DOF Bokeh, Tesselation, Real-Time Reflections and what not, they look good because they run smooth, bug-free, with no Jags or Aliasing. In Crysis 2 in SLI, you can’t even know if what you see at some distance is a trash can or an enemy.
And the SP is so linear… I mean… You don’t even have to think or explore, it’s just: You can do this, or that and you have ammo here and there.
Crysis was a great game. Crysis 2 is just…
You’re just mad that you spent so much money on something that is 100% useless. A second graphics card.
SLI/CF is for…
Well, insulting you is not necessary. You already lost ~600 bucks.
Whoever told you this obviously lied to you.
I’m not mad about that, believe me. You can insult me if you want to, but that’s not logic. I like playing games, but I’m not a hardcore gamer or a fanatic. I don’t even have the time to play games every week. I just like to have the best possible experience when I play a game, what’s wrong with that?
Just to prove your point, can you tell me any game (beside Crysis 2) that has problems with SLI/crossfire?
Crysis (1) is still a great looking game, so you’d think Crysis 2 would be better right? Usually that’s what happens…
Can you give me an example of any game that needs SLI to run properly? It’s just overkill… One solid GPU and it’s alright…
Totally proving my point that a second gpu is 100% useless and I thought I exaggerated.
That depends if you want to play the game at its full potencial (eye candy), or if you just want to play it. I just like to play games maxed. It’s just preference.
For me, Metro 2033 (max settings) is unplayable if I get less than 50 FPS, but that’s just me. I had like 30/35 FPS with SLI disabled and it doubled with SLI.
That makes perfect sense, but keep in mind that Cryengine 3 was made for the X360 and ps3 and ported to the PC with little changes and optimization. Naturally video quality would be less than that of an engine designed specifically for a PC.
That is exactly the point. They should have made an engine that worked fine in both the PC and Consoles. Look at Unreal Engine 3, Source, Frostbite engines… they all work fine both in consoles and pc’s and have no problem whatsoever with Multi-GPU support or Anti-Aliasing.
Sorry it’s not as good looking as Crysis man. Really, there’s acres of difference between running this maxed on a PC and the original crysis. Such a shame they decided to add a fuckton of optimisation. It really wasn’t necessary to make it run a million times better on all of our rigs, I was happy having to turn things down to get it playable. Who needs optimisation when you can have crysis 1 graphics?
ow, the sarcasm hurts. The point is the engine is far evolved in terms of useability, and can still achieve crysis levels of graphics. Just because on release crysis 2 didn’t live up to your expectations of graphical godliness. And anyway, Crysis 2 is georgeous to me.
I was happy with Crysis 2 too. I could max it out with a single GTX 580 and it was already beautiful. It actually has better graphics than Crysis1. And even AA worked great. I just thought it was stupid that I had to manually disable SLI in the NV control panel to play it.
Later they said that the SLI issue was fixed and I tried it, but the game didn’t look as good as before. After some comparision, I found out that they had disabled the AA, which was causing the flickering. They didn’t fix anything. And there is still a lot of flickering here and there. But no problem, I could play it perfectly. But know they deliver a DX11 pack and better textures but they didn’t fixed the SLI/AA/Flickering issue, which made this release pretty much useless, because you really need SLI to take advantage of it (have at least 50 FPS).
But, as said before, SLI disables the AA, and the game looks much worse than before. This is why I think it’s stupid.
so basically, tl;dr
butthurt because of an issue you had?
could have saved us alot of time and energy
