Nope, we don’t like your deeplinking.
To be honest. I don’t know what deeplinking means It was just a image.
PC beta doesn’t have DX11 enabled yet, only dx9. Full version will presumably have better effects.
as to sys requirements, for me even the ‘gamer’ setting doesn’t give satisfactory framerate for playing online
i have C2D@3Ghz, 4GB ram, radeon hd4870 512mb and it looks that its not enough to play comfortably on multiplayer.
I have an amd phenom quad core@2.6, 8GB ddr2 ram, radeon hd4850 1GB, and i played yesterday on the gamer setting with 1920x1080 just fine. I haven’t treid the other graphics settings but I cant wait!
the only thing i see is that xbox has more realistic bloom
edit: not more realistic bloom, but as in more bloom, realistic.
higher contrast, that’s all
Neither do I.
C2D E8400 @ 3GHZ, 6GB DDR2 RAM, 4890 1GB. Runs 1680x1050 Hardcore at 30-35 fps. Haven’t tested the lower settings yet, but it looks pretty good so far, seems better optimized for current hardware than the first one. Of course, we’ll see what happens with the retail release.
Game runs very smoothly on ‘Gamer’ while still maintaining respectable graphics. Smaller maps do have their advantages.
My i7 860 at 2.8 and 5870 stock both run the mp demo maxed out at 1920x1080 with smooth framerate. Can’t wait until DX11 is enabled, hopefully that will blow my mind like crysis 1 did
I’ve been playing the game maxed out with a very smooth framerate, the dx10-11 features in the retail version should be very interesting to see given the amount of optimization.
No you’re not seeing right. There’s higher contrast on the Xbox screenshot.
Also take note of the lack of smoke effect, and shitty water the Xbox has.
EDIT: Just realized there are more than 1 screenshot… Hope you did too, otherwise you’re blind. The PC version looks better everywhere I checked, just gay brightness because the person taking the screenshots was a dipshit. Also both the Xbox and PC versions are locked to DX9 right now, (with the excpection of the PC being able to roll back to 8, but why would you do that?) and the Xbox wont be able to handle the DX11 version anyway, so yeah.
Grabbing steady frames as well. Only hiccup I’ve found is that some times the games wont start when 12 people are in the room.
“DGVictus” is my GameSpy account. I’m down for playing with some people from here.
Sonicgamers is my gamespy account, hope to play against you soon.
Yeah… Noticed that a few times.
Yes, that bug is ruining the demo.
I saw games not starting as well, but I’m not sure if it was only in servers with 12 players. The chat in the server lobby also has an agonizingly long delay between sending an IM and seeing it appear in the chat box.
I also wonder why noone has complained over the edge/temp AA. It makes everything so blurry I feel like needing glasses. Also you can’t chat during the game.
Been playing the demo, the game itself has nice lighting and looks pretty, especially with the lens flares. It severely lacks detail though, the textures on hardcore are pretty bad, it seems they only have normal maps.
The motion blur is horrid though. As annoying as the first one’s motion blur could be at times, at least it was disabled in MP, and you could adjust the amount. 2 Seems to combat the annoyance by forcing yet more motion blur down are throats, they throw it around like it’s the highlight of the graphics almost - i guess they figured they could make up for the lack of visual detail in the demo by blurring everything. No console, so i can’t disable it, and gamer has a style of motion blur that looks even worse, so lowering settings isn’t an option.
On to the gameplay - It is fast paced and fairly fun, but It feels too much like a cod clone to me. The nanosuit’s 3 modes (1 passive and 2 active) are fairly easy to switch between, but they gave us the suit menu in this demo and it’s pointless to use now. Binoculars are pointless in MP, and it’s easier to switch with shortcuts, rather than open the menu.
Which is odd because the menu was so much more fluid in the first.
Power is a joke mode though, because it does nothing but let you sprint like a normal soldier (not realistically, I mean compared to other games) and there is no way to power up your bashes. It’s almost like they threw in power mode for per…ahem, modules, and the other little things like jump height and sprint. Maybe i would feel differently if you could charge a punch up.
Armor and cloak are nicely implemented though, I like the stronger feel armor has, and Stealth killing isn’t spam happy like other games, and the cloak has a nice balance of visibility and range, so you can’t just walk right in front of your enemies.
Air stomping enemies is really fun, but I have a feeling it will get old pretty soon. Though it can be quite useful since you can kill people with a stomp from a normal power jump now.
The small maps are too big for a 12 player limit, half the time i find myself running around looking for people in a TIA match, should be 16.
Overall, it’s not bad, but it feels like the bastard child of Crysis and CoD, and the whole design of things seems very generic to me. Probably will get it when it comes out just because I am bored of the other games that I have. Assuming the editor comes on launch day.
Oh yeah, I don’t think this rumor that’s floating around is true, but if it is its pretty fucking stupid:
Crysis 2 may not support DX11 at launch
