I got a random e-mail from Crytek about their beta on the 360. Letting people know about it.
As to HOW to actually sign up for it, your guess is as good as mine.
It’s for the 360 ONLY, so you console people have a one up on the PC gamers.

Fuck. I wanted to try it on my new computer .
Yeah, I read the e-mail I yelled “FUCK” and banged my desk. I know how you feel.
Why do beta’s matter?
so they’re not full of glitches and is fun, what else?
Finally. At least I won’t have to go buy another computer to play Crysis 2. Now port Crysis 1 so I can play it without tons of sound glitches.
I mean in the sense why should I play it. Better to play a relatively stable version than a glitched one.
Playing the beta helps Crytek find bugs easier so they can iron them out. Sort of like how in school when you write a report and they tell you to hand it someone else so they can proof read it for you and catch mistakes you might not have noticed.
I love Crytek’s post about how demos are going to be phased out.
Yes, Crytek…it’s a “service” to us. It has absolutely no advertising use whatsoever.
What do you think the community is for?
Edit: I get some stuff out of Crytek occasionally when I signed up for the mycrysis about 2 years ago. (I had a support issue back then and needed some help, my Wars client kept crashing when I started playing a map)
During the holiday season they launched a “free trial play” for Crysis/Crysis Wars for people who had signed up on the forum. I gave a few friends I know the beta keys…
This goes to show it’s worth while to sign up for some of their stuff.
– Latest one is the beta invite… which I can’t participate in. I will not now, nor will I ever get a Xbox for the life of me. It’s a waste of money imo (monthly service, consoles for me mean fighting/driving games and single-player/you and a friend or how ever many jacks the console has MP)
beta is good fun, final version with LESS bugs is more fun, i think ill wait, even though i own a 360, ill muster up and play it in its full glory, after its on release update
I signed up for the beta and when they announced that it’ll be for the 360 only I was like [COLOR=‘Red’]FFFFUUUU…
At least I have good chances to play it on high settings on my computer since Crysis runs quite well, too.
RANDOMNESS TIME
How fucking stupid do you have to be to not see the point of a beta? When you have a wider spectrum of testers, you can get a lot more results in the way of bug stomping. It’s mostly useful for finding network problems and balance issues. Stuff that would take years of closed testing to find. Jesus, man. There wouldn’t BE a stable version if it weren’t for a beta. I mean look at Gears of fucking War 2!
But he didn’t say that. He asked “why would anyone want to play an unfinished version?” He’s not saying it’s wrong for people to participate in the beta testing, he’s just asking the reasons behind that logic and why would YOU or anyone want to beta test (selflessness, maybe?).
^This question
Because by playing the beta you help to create the more stable, finished version of the game.
Only a lot of people have less selfless reasons. People get really excited about playing them like its a final game. Its just weird.
I guess they are technically getting to play the game, but I’d rather wait a few months for a good solid version.
They better send a PC beta version invite to me or else I’m gonna punch my pillow
It looks kinda… Boring.
I’ll stick with Crysis Wars thank you, it looks better anyway.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
