FIX’D

I’m having trouble with my crosshair settings. For reference, here is the full crosshair:

Now, it has brackets+quickinfo+5 dots. Quickinfo can be removed with the console command ‘hud_quickinfo 0’. The 5 dots can be removed with ‘crosshair 0’. But I have no idea how to remove the brackets.

Ideally, I want to play it with the 5 dots only.

Before, ‘hud_quickinfo 0’ would remove both the quickinfo and the brackets, in all 3 HL2 games, but it no longer works. I was reading an ancient thread about a similar issue, and it said that EP2 had some quirky rules about this, which may have since been carried over to the others. (I recently noticed that Portal now even has these brackets, another huge reason I want them gone.)

Are you playing it with a gamepad?

I’ll try it without… does that usually do it?

Yeah, playing it with a 360 controller will make the HUD look like the console version.

Strangely enough I actually like the brackets.
