counter strike 2

we all know its bound to happen after portal 2
so what new features/weapons/player models/maps do you think will be in (or want in) counter strike 2?

None.

If they make a CS2, they had better make more of an emphisis on mission-based gameplay.
DM =/= The original concept of CS.

How about gamemodes where you can respawn.

There is no need for CS2, also a TF3. No one need it

^This

There will be another CS and TF when Valve makes a new engine. No earlier.

CS is good enough. Be happy.

There is also no need of a new engine.

Currently they are implementing a DirectX 11 rendering path into the Source engine.

Exactly.

That’s why I love Valve as a PC developer. They always keep their fans with good-but-not-the-best PCs in mind.

i want the next CS to be on valves next engine. Source probably has another year or two, it’s amazing that they have used it for this long.

There is no need for a new engine. The Source engine still looks great. Just look at Episode 2 or Left 4 Dead. Hell, look at Black Mesa!

I want more weapons! Really. More weapons with sence.

Good weapons and not 2 main weapons which everyone preferes! AK47 anf Colt M4 … wah its so boring. Everyone runs around with this guns. Same like deagle. All other weapons are some kind of Fun weapons. I hope they balance it. In this sense:

I hope they make an individual Counterstrike Character. Like … like an individual player which represents my part in Cs? … customizeable in every part (maybe like in Rainbow six vegas? Just an example) … You are a sniper pro and like AWP? No Problem. Lighter armor to move around faster. A small Clan Logo on the back of you’re Kevlar. so everyone knows you: This is the damn pro sniper from the last Server!
Or … a Heavy armoured supporter wit Para? … Really it would change the way of CS and wars will done.
Maybe this all could be done over more things to buy. Maybe 4 Types of Kvlar (super light, normal, heavy and super heavy) or Helmets. And some settings which will just change you optical appearence of you char without affecting the gamplay. Like Pink boots for the Ladys  Or Sunglasses?

CS:S was in my opinion a misarable fault! Same as CSPromod. Giving something new, individal to cs, but keeping on the good old smooth gameplay is the right way. I really would like to see individual chars. … But … not like in COD 4 or something like this. I mean this "Omg i got XP to kill someone and im over Level 9000!!! Look at meee!"This was disgusting.

i thing the ability to customice CS 1.6 in so much ways (AMXmod plugins like Zombie plague, Kreez) compared with the simple and smooth gameplay, is the reason why it lives today and will be played in the next 10 years.

Even if the dont make it like this, i hope they update the source engine! I will be able to make a mod of CS2 to enable these features of customization  I also like the old HL1 feature to run around with an green Hev suit. Customisation player chars is funny, intresting (maybe sometimes stupid) and a great feature.

Ah yes and i want to see that NO one can edit his config and rates so much that others are handicapped who dont know how to do this. This is another story …

Why is this in the Half-Life section? It doesn’t have anything to do with Half-Life.

EDIT: if anything Valve has learned and removes the AWP from the game. It just so annoying to hear people cry “OMG AWP USER WTF N00B”. Counterstrike is one of the few Multiplayers I enjoy but there are to many goddamn 5 year olds.

CS: S already has a ton of weapons and it all boils down to the AK, M4, Deagle, and P90.

Also, More =/= Better. “Metal Gear Solid 4” has the most guns that I have ever seen in the game… and they’re all the fucking same with different models. The biggest irony is that I always play the game as a stealth game, so I never use any of them for the most part aside from the tranquilizer gun and stun knife, or in boss fights.

Every multiplayer game has 5 year olds. It’s just something you have to deal with.

Also, mute em’

                                             /\
                                          Fixed

maybe i should elaborate. CSS and CS 1.6 are enough for now, two years from now, when the next valve engine comes out (8 years on the same engine is pushing it), then a new CS should come out.

I always don that but then some more 5 year olds come in. And then I mute those too but then the same thing happens again, and then I ask them politely if they can shut up, and then they all moan at me calling me a “n00bz0rz” while I killed them with the knife most of the time. And then the 3 seconds old admin with the even higher pitched voice comes in and bans me for “haxing”. It’s just every fucking server has only five year olds who can’t play for shit.

I hear the guy who created the original counter-strike mod of the Half-Life engine was working on a sequel using the same old Half-Life engine. Though I don’t see the point with Counter-Strike Source having been made.

But I’m with the consensus of the thread, CS2 will come when a new engine comes. Or like an improved engine, Source Source or whatever it may be.

As for what I’d like to see…

Counter-Strike’s so basic it’s hard to think of ways to improve it really. Not that it’s a bad thing. It’s good to have something basic, with a formula that works, that you can jump into pretty easy.

Other than new character models/maps/weapons, I can’t think of much.

This + Valve already said that they aren’t going to develop a new engine, because everything they need for their ideas can still be realized with Source by simply adding new features. This was one of Gabe Newells latest statements.

wait, source is the same engine that half life 1 was built on right? valve got all they could out of it for half life 1 and other games and cranked it up for half life 2. i remember reading something that said in the old release of half life 2, there were still lines of code from the old engine in the game. wont valve just modify source and call it good? that or I’m really stupid.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
