Countdown on the BM website

It’s worse than that though, there are actually people calling the devs greedy, money-grubbing, liars, even unethical. Yes, unethical for…um…selling a product they made. Just because part of it’s already free. Uh… K den?

Seriously, I need one of those videos of people being wonderful human beings. Can someone hook me up?

Exactly, people who refuse that something should be sold on account of nothing more than not wanting to spend money, believing that everything should be free. They can try to justify their claims in any way, but it all comes down to not wanting to spend money. They can settle for the free version, or fuck 'em. It’s really not worth getting up in arms about. As a reasonable person, I’ve payed and will enjoy their hard work, because dammit, the levels of joy this will bring me…

OMG, the forum keeps disappering. So much hype!

Screw them. I’ve played it for a short while now and the amount of new things, big and small, is awesome. I’m not going to let anyone ruin this.

Well worth the money. Realized when I payed though that I’m actually giving money to my own brother who is one of the devs…

Have you checked to see if the performance options have been updated, like was spoiler in the “ask the devs” thread? Multicore rendering and such in the adv. video options?

Nope. Doesn’t help.

EDIT: The entire game is stuck in fullbright, not just the first background map.

I play at 4k at 60hz.

Check the steam page should tell you most of the changes. There are a ton. At least 200 new models (just and estimate). Lots if animation changes, voice acting changes engine changes etc. Bug fixes were over 150…lots of things.

I’m wondering if Text’s stuff (OAR:U/ST:U) was integrated or if it’s compatible with the new update.

He’s updated them for Steam, they’ll probably be on the workshop soon.

It’s a bit off-topic, but among the cheer of the Steam release, I’d like to take a moment to apologize to you, bkdale, for the whole BBMIP thing. I didn’t intend for my words to be taken as they were and I’ve felt rather guilty ever since BBMIP 17.
I love all of the work you’ve done on the project, and what I said unimportant and out-of-bounds, as such, I’m incredibly sorry!

As user696 said, in console, set mat_dxlevel 90. This should work for you. Sorry about this.

And as I said previously, that didn’t help. What did eventually help was setting HDR level to 2, and restarting the game several times. However, that doesn’t seem to stick permanently, as the game will occasionally bump the HDR level back to 0.

That Tau cannon looks beautiful.

Maybe it’s an option somewhere in your graphic card parameters? (you know, like specific program preferences in nvidia control panel or something like this)

edit: congratulations to devs for Steam early access release BTW

Holy ffffffff -

We’re looking into the issue now. Basically, the entire game is compiled as HDR only, not LDR, thus the LDR issue. (This is intentional)

I asked Text about that and he told me this:

“Currently we have filesize limitations which break the Uncut mods. It’s one of the first things on our list of issues to resolve, then they will go up. I have done all the work I can to port them.”

Cool.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
