That’s what she said.
The controller is much better for things where subtle movement is needed. Like racing games.
Also I love the speed variety you can get with a controller, but keyboard and mouse is far superior in FPS’.
That would be hilarious. You press a pressure sensitive key, thus setting off an in game event that causes your keyboard to vibrate and thus change the amount of pressure you’re putting on the key. I’m sure that even though KB+Mouse users can’t stand the lack of accuracy of analog stick vs mouse, they’ll be totally fine with the loss of accuracy that comes from a vibrating pressure sensitive keyboard. :retard:
I’m fine with either, but I prefer keyboard + mouse for Fps’s and controllers for anything else.
I also play inverted when I use a controller and non-inverted for KB+M.
I personally prefer mouse for fps and rts (i don’t play mmo). It isn’t like I hate controllers in fact I fine with them the games for them are designed around their faults. It is just easier for me to just stick to mouse rather then going back and forth and having to adjust. Anything third person i prefer controller. And racing or vehicle orientated I prefer controllers too. Really just depends imo.
Mouse and keyboard FTW
The only thing a controller is good for is fighting games, and possibly 2D platformers.
My friend is playing Bioshock and watching him play is soo irritating. The enemies come running up to you, shooting at you and strafing side to side when you shoot. The movement as i said is like a robot. Theres also like shit load of items scattered all over the floor and the analog stick anit smooth for looking for things + hacking machines!!!
Yes, because it’s totally a problem with controllers when the whole damn controller is vibrating. :retard:
For me, using a mouse and keyboard offers a much larger range of control and field of view. Using a controller on a console seems to be alright, but in First Person Shooter games, the controller feels rather awkward whenever I try to use the directional pads to look and move around.
How can you people say controllers are the best input device for driving games? Flight sims and racing games are best played using steering wheels and joysticks.
Controllers really only have two kinds of game that they are exclusive to: Platformers and fighting games. I played the Matrix Path of Neo on PC, and I must say it felt incredibly awkward to use WASD to finish off combos.
The Prince of Persia games were much more awkward on PC than on my Gamecube. I felt much more comfortable running across walls using a controller than the keyboard.
I think that we’ve reached a consensus.
Truer words have never been spoken ITT.
I usually get moar headshawts with controllers.
Ahem:
I completely agree, but I classed steering wheels under controllers
.
of course it’s not a problem with controllers. You hold a controller in your hand and so when it vibrates, your hand moves with the vibration and results in no relative motion between your hand and the controller. A keyboard rests under your hand with your fingers resting on the keys, so your hand isn’t going to move with the vibration which will result in relative motion between your hand and the keyboard when it vibrates.
Certainly, but this is mouse+kb vs controller, so in the context of that comparison an analog gamepad will win out over mouse+kb, and as Siggs just pointed out, even including steering wheels and such, they still are generally categorized under specialty gamepads rather than mouse+kb.
Just as Mouse only has 2 types of games that it is excusive to; RTS and FPS (NOTE: I still feel FPS is best played through combination of mouse+Gamepad NOT keyboard)
Just about every other game can be played interchangeably and is merely a matter of which you are more comfortable using.
personally i prefer to play fps games using my donkey konga bongo controller
I am prepared to get flamed, I actually prefer the controller over mouse and keyboard for all types of games apart from RTS. I find them much easier to use and keyboards have too many keys, you can press the wrong button all the time, and they are not very ergonomic.
