If you buy from AMD, price is no problem.
Though I always buy Intel processors.

An XBox360 will only ever be able to play games as well and as nice-looking as an XBox360 is able to. If you pay the extra money to get a better computer, you’ll get better performance. I know my computer can play Modern Warfare 2 with better performance and detail than an XBox360, ANY XBox360 (considering they are all just about the same except for data storage space).
Another point: Computers are more versatile. Outside of games, computers have the rest beaten, hands down. They can do anything. Consoles can play games, and maybe if you’re feeling particularly desperate, surf the web.
i prefer computers to consoles, but i dont like the fact i cant afford to upgrade my pc to play all the cool new stuff out there
Dear God!
Are we REALLY going to do this again?!
Are we really going to argue about trivial shit like this?
Are we really going to have massive PC fanboy erections again and talk about how “stoopid da consol pesents r” and how “sooper amazin us pc gamerz r”?!
Who cares?! It’s still gaming! Enjoy it!
Oh. You’re back.
You do have a point there, I guess. People might take you more seriously though if you didn’t spooge all over the forum everytime someone said Halo. There are far better games.
Also of note: Consoles seem to have this tendency when released to be slightly better than than most (note the emphasis before you flame please) pc’s, but this is quickly outstripped by pc’s ability to upgrade within a few months. Console’s also have the advantage of dedicated hardware, meaning no twannying around with Direct X (from a coding or end user perspective) + increased stability. Generally though, pc’s are better because of more flexibility, better performance, and…well I was going to say less butthurt 12yo noobs, but we have just as many of them.
I think the main problem pc users have with controller sticks, is they expect twitch aiming capability from them like a mouse. Aiming with sticks is different to a mouse, you have to flick in the general direction of the target, then subtly fine tune the aim as you strafe around/towards your target.
For you guys who say 350$ will get you a computer that can play modern games/have BETTER performance than a 360 i’m gonna assume you mean upgrading an already decent computer with a new graphics card plus a select few other parts? Otherwise, what are you smoking/where do you buy your pc hardware from, and are you referring to a no frills (ie tiny monitor, bland case, accessories, etc.) setup? Please expand upon these otherwise magical claims.
They’re probably referring to buying the individual parts and assembling them.
They’re also referring to no monitor; consoles don’t come with a tv.
THEY ARE BOTH GOOD OPTIONS, THEY BOTH HAVE POSITIVES AND NEGATIVES.
NOW GTFO TROLL[/size]
My 2 cents

And the average gamer (ie, the guy that actually likes games) only cares about game experiences. As long as there are many great game experiences on their platform of choice, then they (myself included) won’t care about any of this.
The only next-gen console worth bitching about is the Wii, if you can even call it “next-gen.”
Oh geez this thread again.
PC’s will always better no matter how many small details you try and grab out of your ass. There you go. Consoles are for people who can’t afford to shell out so much money.
There’s nothing else to it.
I constantly play co-op with my friends on my PC on my 32" HDTV, your point is invalid.
double post.
You care enough to reply. Nice fallacy :retard
I don’t even understand how a computer could be compared to a gaming console.
They were never designed to directly compete with each other, gaming is only a small part of what computers do, whilst consoles are designed solely for gaming although they are starting to adapt a very small amount of functions that a computer would normally serve.
I don’t even see the point in arguing, seeing as the nature of the two things are completely different. It’s like comparing a plane to a helicopter. They can both do some of the same things, but neither can do exactly what the other can.
That doesn’t work since a computer can do everything a console can whereas consoles can’t do what computers can (the other things beside gaming).
That’s a different case. As your computer is the size of a TV. There are always special cases. I’m talking about each person having their own individual computer, because very few games allow two people to play at once on the same system.
wat.
What about “Play Metal Gear Solid 4?” Can a PC do that? No? Then your argument is invalid.
Yes, yes it can if you have access to certain tools.
