Connection problems Downloading files in CSS/GMOD

Another problem ive encountered today, it seems if i join a server and start downloading files to play in the match, my internet connection disconnects, and wont recconect until i click cancel and return to the main screen, some things you should know;

Provider : [COLOR=‘Blue’]BT (Bt home hub)
Monthly allowance : [COLOR=‘DarkRed’]20gigs ([COLOR=‘Lime’]nowhere near it yet)

Brand new Dell xps? maybe something to do with hardware, maybe the homehub thinks the files downloading are not freindly? im not to sure, itd be nice if anyone could shed some light on this.

try killing windows fire wall.

EDIT: do other computers on the network lose internet? And do the files start then die or die right away?

Also kill upnp on your router/modem and see if that helps.

If i remember correctly, my old pc DIDNT disconnect.
Er also the files do download for instance gmod i could download 100 lue scripts with about 400 left and the connection will just instantly die. ill try taking windows firewall down.

Windows firewall is intergrated with my mcaffe, i went on advance settings on my home hub and allowed CS HL2 and Steam games. see what happens.

how can one even find 14gb of interesting legal stuff?
i’m guessing you downloaded steam games after a reformat,like me,and i agree with you,20 gigs is :fffuuu: my download quota is 80 gigs and i usually get close to it every month,well,you know,downloading legal stuff

I downloaded approx 120GB illegal stuff this month and I have a 60gig allowance for upload+download… Good thing my ISP only adds up to 30$ on top of the 50something monthly…

Honestly though, it’s been charging that extra 30$ every month since my mom lost her credit card 2 years ago and cancelled the unlimited internet plan…

Half-life 2 and cinematic update from fake factory. approximately 14 gigs.
But to more important topic. Why in the hell there is such a thing as dload limit?
Here in Finland we dont have that - luckily.

I’d piss shit if some one would limit my internet acces.

they don’t have enough bandwidth for all their users speed so they limit their speed if they download too much
