Confused about laptop performances

hey i recently got this

https://www.engadget.com/2009/03/10/msi-announces-the-vx600-15-4-inch-notebook/
[the 3 gb ram edition]

and i am really confused about it’s performance, some people have been telling me i’m supposed to run prototype in high , crysys in med-high n shit , but i finished prototype in low settings , crysys in very low settings , and even COD4 moves laggy , i got ultimate vista x86 [ like x32 or something ] on it , does it run slower then it should? , the games i install autoset themselves in very high settings , but they run very laggy if i don’t tweak it , also , asssasins creed works laggy in med settings with alot of things disabled , hl2ep2 works 30-20 fps with everything on high
[fallout 3 was laggy too , sometimes , in some settings , but the settiings didn’t matter much , devil may cry 4 works in 50-60 fps only in very low settings , stalker works good in mid-low , crimes of war in low-med combination ]
does it work slower then it should?

also , is ATI3410 HD a good card? [512]

Sounds like you should just get a real computer.

too late , i spent on this laptop x money , and with half of x i could’ve baught a computer with the same performances , only more hard drive space … , it was not my decision

Can you post real specs?

Intel Core 2 Duo processor 4200 - 2.1 ghz each
3 gb ddr2 ram 667 [ i think ]
320 HDD
ATI HD 3410 - 512 vram dedicated

it’s bassicly this one https://www.cel.ro/laptop-notebook/notebook-msi-vx600x_065eu-t4200-320gb-3gb-ati-hd3410-l/ only with 3 gb ram

If you can, try to see if all the hardware is hooked up properly. An overheating graphics card could be causing this problem. Or, check if you have any programs eating up paged pool memory (things like Norton).

According to this page, it’s not a Core 2 Duo, it’s a Centrino Dual Core which is much less powerful. You also have a ATI HD 3410, which is said on the AMD/ATi website to have 64MB, and not 512.

So if right, and I don’t hope for you that I am not, you got jacked hard.

Basically it goes to show what I’ve always thought about laptops: they suck big, fat, hairy, sweaty, monkey balls for gaming.

does this answer your questions?

razik : i can’t really open the laptop , it has 2 year warrannty , also , it has no antivirus whatsoever …

Well you still got a not very powerful processor, so it may be the issue. Can you overclock via the BIOS?

You have a Pentium Dual Core, which I believe is different than a Core Two Duo.

You messed up. You should have clarified to make sure that was the kind of dual core you wanted.

Like this?

If that’s the same, Mine plays the games iky mentioned that has problems, on high.
But I think mine is a duo

No, this:

so bascly , the processor sucks?

The Wandering God

you could always try a program called mobility modder, it lets you use the desktop ATI drivers on laptop cards. I was skeptical at first, but there don’t seem to be any detrimental effects, gives a few extra frames in some situations.

But that’s only a small thing, can’t boost your performance as much as you want.
.

well i only want to find out if the laptop is working fine or it works under it’s potential , so the reason i couldn’t play assasin’s creed in med-high , med is cause of the processor?

The Wandering God

Well my laptop runs Episode 2 at medium to high, no AA, at the same frame rate, 20-30. In closed areas, it can jump to 40.
I can’t say I’ve tried any of the other mentioned games tho. It’s a fairly similar graphics card, cpu and ram.

my specs
.

that’s kind of how it runs on mine , with no AA and biliniar and color corretion off [vsync on] , ir runs about the same ,50-60 fps in closed areas ,… so i no need to worry that my laptop doesn’t run 100% , hell it’s kind of weak this way…

Well my processor is the same, and plays all those games great, high and all, I dont know why iky’s processor is crapping itself. Faulty?

now i’m really pissed
