My computer does not have any side plates. Is this dangerous? because I heard the computer could easily get electrostatic damage or something…

aka yes it is, i run one of mine with the side panel off, although it could be detrimental to cooling
Thanks.
got mine open all the time, you’ll get more dust but that’s what gas dusters are for.
You can stash money in there in case of an emergency. If you leave it open you’ll spend it.
you could also get alot of dust in your computer.
both of mine have been off for at least 4 years, including the top and front panel, I find there is actually less dust over time and cooling is excellent to the point where my cpu temp doesn’t affect my GPU temp and vice versa
just a side note, keep the top part on, some cases just fall apart without it and you might spill coffee on it or something
I’m with sersoft. oh wait… gotta keep at least ONE side on so that the awesomesauce bms decal sticker displays nice.
Serfsoft, sounds like you erm, ran into this kind of trouble before?
I say leave case on. if you need it off for more efficient cooling, your cooling is crap, do something about it.
no but I once got a PC that had coffee spilled all over it
and I agree with the 2nd part, my CPU cooler is HUGE no it’s IMMENSE
btw who the hell is serfsoft everyone keeps saying his name around me
Habit.
Fucking serf. Go back to the fields.
I haven’t seen my side panels for quite some time now. I guess I’ve lost them
Come to think of it, I can’t even remember what they looked like exactly, I think one of them might have been a different color than the rest of the case.
…
Or was that the other case… :lost_in_thought:
True story kids.
My uncle always left his case off, and two, or three years ago his cat went inside it for warmth.
The entire tower went to shit, and the cat died. (eyes lookeed like they melted, and his face looked liked he was screaming, or having an orgasm)
Anyways, the moral of the story is that if you do have your case open, make sure it can withstand a melting cat.
And people say cats are an intelligent species.
I usually put some bread beneath the videocard, it’s nice and warm there (early in the morning after you take bread from the freezer).
Works great. :3
You can get quite a belt off it when it’s live, so if you do don’t stick your fingers inside
Also if you have small children (or cats) around I’d recommend against it
How would you know?
Anyhow, sticking a finger into a spinning CPU fan will only result in a hurting finger (or fingernail, if you’re unlucky), no blood, no gore, no missing limbs. Spoken from experience.
Haven’t tried stuffing any cats in my PC but truthfully I can’t imagine what could hurt them so bad there. The highest voltage there is 220 which is only inside the PSU and 12V is far from deadly.
what?
