Hi, I decided to make this thread so I can get some opinions and suggestions on the parts of the computer I want to build. I’m nervous, as this is my first computer that I’ve ever built, and will probably be the most expensive thing I will ever touch.

I live in Texas, so this has my shipping factored in along with American tax.

(I’ve been working on this for a little over a month, so I hope this is easy to follow)

That computer might need a power supply.
Also those particular Seagate HDDs have a tendency to brick. I’ve seen two so far myself, and there is reports of a known problem with them.
Just a couple initial thoughts.

facepalm thank you. I completely missed the power supply. Had to find all these parts again after I deleted my cookies. If the Seagate dies, I can just rip my old HDD out of my old computer until I can get another.

But why wouldn’t you go WD, so you don’t have to spend ~$80 to get a new one?

I was going to suggest more gpus, but you’re going micro ATX, so never mind.

Actually, I found that my case didn’t support micro, so I had to get a different (ATX) motherboard. I was able to cut down on some things to $650 (€456) I am updating now. As soon as I get more money (mint 1934 Mickey Mouse watch anyone?) I will get some CrossFire supplies and another 4870.
And lets just say, if I spend more than necessary on anything (My parents would know, they are both experts in computers) and my 6+ months of dreaming, my 2 months of yardwork and other jobs, and my month of organizing, researching, and searching will be gone.

EDIT: FUCKING SHIT. I thought I was way overbudget. I save $80 from not deleting my old CPU.

You might want more than 585Ws so you more upgradability.

I’m using the extra money exactly for that.
