Community Update

the photographs are actually screenshots of the new version of black mesa on source 2

“Intrested in showing support?” :fffuuu:

How epic wouldn’t it be if that actually turned out to be true?

Sorry to disappoint:

Taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Rock,_New_Mexico

Ironically not Black Mesa, but White Rock…

Well is it wishful thinking that we get a developer update in the place it is meant to go based on this ERSB rating or is it a case of nothing has been submitted yet but it will be once the work is complete?

And it is just there to let us know the game will be rated x for extreme hardcore gore fest

No but seriously I would not mind a bit more horror

although I am obviously joking about the gorefest

Hey, that’s neat. On the Wikipedia article, they mention a petroglyph found. It would be cool if there were some rocks with petroglyphs to be found in Black Mesa. Maybe a houndeye’s blast could dislodge a rock that Gordon can find and see the petroglyph on it.

Huh, I thought the pictures were CGI made.

lol, really? that was the joke, that they’re obviously real photos :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, the second picture, the one of the dam, looked so much like the Black Mesa dam that I thought the pictures were CGI made.

The dam in Black Mesa is based on it (it’s the hoover damn right?), that’s probably why

Yeah.

Apparently, the Black Mesa Steam Avatars have their own section: https://steamcommunity.com/actions/GameAvatars/ Just scroll down and you’ll see Black Mesa.

Also, according to Facepunch, Black Mesa had it’s own steam ID in the database since late October.

Apparently, two people played it.

I had faith progress was being made, but seeing tangible evidence is always exciting and vindicating.

Oh man. If it came out on the 19th!

It won’t, though… will it? …No, it won’t.

I find it’s odd to see other people have this kind of hope for an imminent (before the end of the year 2013) release of a new version of Black Mesa when:

  1. The new website has been updated with a date 2004-2014

  2. They started recruiting in September 2013

The website date is entirely immaterial. They recruited for MULTIPLAYER map designers so not necessarily anything to do with this release at all.

My hopes are getting up waay too far now :fffuuu:

And you are not alone with that  , but patience is gold.

Hey, this is still here. :frowning:

Forget to flush the CDN cache. fixed.

Nice.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
