Community Update

Where is the ESRB rating that you speak of? I can’t seem to locate it on the frontpage…?

It looks like it’s gone now, for whatever reason.

It was commented out

They are probably gonna show the logo when the game releases on Nov. 19

And what proof do you have that it is coming out November 19th?

HL1s Anniversary isn’t proof :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m willing to believe anything at this point. I know assuming won’t do shit, but I’m taking all I can get.

Hey, it’s possible. Exactly 15 years post-release would be nice, no?

The mod is in development for 9 years by now, hopefully it’s done before the 10th rolls.

Pretty sure if it was we would have heard something by now.

The devs said in a earlier post on this thread that they have nothing they want to share with us. :frowning: :[:’(> :frowning:

IIRC the devs would announce any release two weeks beforehand. Or was that just with the first release?

funny

Not today at least.

Come on guys, if they have something to share with us, they can’t do it, cause steam doesn’t allow it. Sorry my english

They can’t share anything on the greenlight/Steamworks process.

They can share what they want with the mod, but they have nothing to share at the moment.

Valve NDA has nothing to do with the actual mod.

I think I remember some issues with the Valve NDA about including the Surface Tension Uncut maps and the On a Rail Uncut maps (a fanmade collection of maps made by TextFAMGUY1 that add in what the BM devs cut out of the original Half Life ST/OaR) in the official BM game after Text got hired as a BM dev, leading to the eventual rejection of the maps. I don’t know if they were just being cautious or if there was a actual legal restraint though :frowning:

I don’t think that had anything to do with the NDA. I think it was legally tenuous because he made them himself without being on the team. Therefore he could potentially (though not likely) try to claim ownership of them after they had been included.

I also suspect it was out of respect for the work of the mappers who made vanilla ST and OaR.

Here is the dev’s exact reply: https://forums.blackmesasource.com/showpost.php?p=557630&postcount=856

Of course, this was posted two months ago, so they probably are further in development.

EDIT: Also, they are pretty much done with their assets, so making Xen shouldn’t take very long, implying they are still in development.

First of all, Happy 15th Birthday, Half-Life!
The best feature of the game to me is the replayability. Every time I play with it, it’s a bit different, a bit of a new experience. Gladly, Black Mesa did succeed in imitating that, this is one of the reasons why it’s so successful, and also the reason why one can wait till the 2nd release patiently, no way to get bored with BM v1.0 any time soon.

The placement of enemies and items is the same each time. It could potentially have more replay value.

Useless post, might as well delete it, sorry.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
