Community Update

I sleepily yawn as I enter my office, preparing myself for the ringing of the phone and then fixing of computers.
I sift through logs for a bit, contemplating the incident with the huntsman spider earlier that morning.
I load up my usual daily pages, switch to the bms homepage,

And time. stands. still.

… All I can say is thank you.

Actually I can say a lot more. Thank you for:

a) Creating the greatest recreation of a video game EVER.
b) Sticking with it for such a long, long time without giving up or giving in to shortcuts, to the point of delaying the game for the sake of quality.
c) For staying strong, despite the thousands of selfish snot-nosed kids and gutter trash humans who whine and complain for every reason possible.
d) For doing exactly what you have done. No one deserves to say that you did something wrong with this mod.

DERRR HAHLFE-LEFE TREE ES GUNNA B REALEASED SUN GUIEZE.

I was waiting for someone to notice

Oh, and is the soundtrack available in FLAC or just lossy?

It’s Half-Life.

All of it.

Except Xen.

That comes out Later.

Well, today’s events prove you wrong.

Cloudflare, vbulletin,… are really bad technological choices.

There is no optimization at all on the website : 22 queries [and ~350KB] on the main page ; changing background for the header of the forums ; …

Being good in one field doesn’t mean that you’re good at anything. Sys/Webadmin has nothing to do with game dev.

We’ll be fine. On launch day we will introduce load balancers to the servers. Do not be blind on what you see on the outside. Just sit back and enjoy the game on launch.

distribution has been fully considered.

/sites/bms/ftp ?

hubi’s the shit :3

Holy fuck.

I can read that statement and know the exact moment that “launch” is.

I never thought I’d see this day.

I really wish a majestic choir would be singing on blackmesasource.com and all of its sub-pages, and rise in volume as the release approaches.

Here we goooooo.

All the devs and mods make me feel like this:

Hubi, you’re my second favorite IT guy. Right behind my dad.

My worries are rested

There’s something Magical about watching the Usual flow and Organization of the forums here Deteriorate and Unravel haphazardly as the Website explodes and overflows with Members and Guests more and More until the Timer hits 00:00:00:00

Wait what? Last I heard on our internal wire, the Distribution Consideration Meter was still hanging around 94%.

We still need to account for situations where the upcoming E-10 virus might incapacitate network administrators in highlands on the West Coast. Our current plan, and I insist on revision, is to send our best Day Z player out there with a Mac-10 and a flash drive to look for survivors and share them a copy of the install files. Like I said before, he’s at LEAST going to need to bring antibiotics and morphine so these people can survive long enough to play at least through Office Complex. But apparently some of the other devs feel that “If things come to that, we have more to worry about than the mod’s distribution.” or some such…

(Did we ever get some extra magazines for him? I know we have several boxes of bullets in the Tennessee bunker, but as far as I know the Mac-10 only came with one full magazine)

You funny. I kiss you first.

Welcome to the gaming Renaissance.

And it’s going to feel So Good.

Simplemente gracias. La mejor noticia del año!

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
