Commodore 64/Amiga gamers

I started with the C64, then moved up to the Amiga 500 then to the 1200. Anyone else besides me played these systems? What were your favorite games?

Mine were (to name a few):

Ultima series I-IV (C64)
Lemmings (Amiga)
Shadow of the Beast (Amiga. Hated playing it because it was hard, but loved the gfx)
The Killing Game Show (Amiga)
Legacy of the Ancients (C64)
Commando (C64 - Music #1)
The Faery Tale Adventure (Amiga)

Did anyone ever play Genetic Species for the Amiga? Supposed to be a good FPS but I never played it.

Yep.

I grew up playing on my older brother’s C64.
I definitely remember playing Commando a lot.

I also was addicted to Katakis (a german R-Type clone) and Turrican 2 (a german Metroid clone by the same guy who’s also famous for ripping off Mario Bros -> Giana Sisters). Those games had great music.

My favorites were Maniac Mansion, California Games and Head over Heels…
ah, those were the days…

Oh!
Almost forgot Last Ninja 2!

GORF!!!

I played on the Commodore 64 until I couldn’t find any games for it anymore, and then moved to a PC running Windows 95. The games I played on the Commodore were.

Might and Magic 1 to 3
Legacy of the Ancients
The Legend of Blacksilver
The Wizard’s Crown
The Pawn
Guild of Thieves
Zork 1 to 3
Lands of Lore
Boulder Dash
and a few Dungeon and Dragon titles that escapes me.

gtfo sega was the shit

gtfo you are shit

I also played a few Infocom titles. Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was my favorite.

Monty on the run! Awesome music :stuck_out_tongue:

I enjoyed Zool 2, Body Blows galactic, Prince of Persia, Golden Axe, Silkworm, Walker, Alien Breed series (3D included), Worms, Out of This World (Another World internationally), and Space Hulk (original) on my Amiga, as well as countless other titles. One thing I loved was how the Amiga used a tracker for music, so it had really great sounding tracks overall for most games.

I’ve never used, or even seen in person, an Amiga or C64. I started with Win 3.x/DOS and an NES.

The Chaos Engine.

Oh you missed some fun games of the time. Granted, the gfx and sound does not compare to today’s titles but they were awesome for their day.

The Demo scene on the Amiga was pretty cool. Coders used to demo their gfx and music talent in as small a file as possible. Sometimes the boot sector of a floppy was the restriction. Software pirates used to create crack-intros that were very impressive as well.

Amiga here

I remember playing Rick Dangerous, The Secret of Monkey Island, Arkanoid, Soccer (dont remember the exact title)

I never managed to get past the 4th level. My excuse is that I was 6 when it was released.

The amiga port of Space Hulk was pretty slow to load, but I fucking loved the music

Same here, started on a C64 that I took with me when I joined the Army. Sold that to a guy in my unit and got an Amiga 500 (bought the 1MB memory upgrade for it later) which I had until I sold it and bought my first Intel based computer (i386).

I played the Kings\Space Quests Series, the LLL series, the Ultima series, and perhaps one of the greatest games and predecessor to the Fallout franchise, Wasteland. Awesome times.

Chuckie Egg - C64
Postman Pat - C64

(I was about 3/4 around then tho so forgive me!)

There are others, might still have it stashed up in the loft. Havent been up there in a few years…
