Halo is an alright saga. Just overhyped. It does have a kickass soundtrack.

However the HL saga is much smarter and more grounded on reality.

Still, the Combine have much better weaponry and would kick their asses.

Covenant, because they’re purple and have Gorillas and dinosaur aliens. Their weapons shoot rock candy and radioactive snowballs.

The Combine are cool and all but they can’t even shoot accurately enough to kill the player.

I think asking this question here is going to generate a lot of one sided answers (Being as this is a half life source mods forum), however this is the real truth you are all currently blind to and will be revealed in Half Life 3 - The Halo Innicdent

And as for the mysterious Forerunners? None other than the Combine themselves. After being unfrozen Freeman passed himself off as a Spartan, with a purpose, to reek revenge on the Forerunners aka the Combine! Master Freeman is here!

So in answer to the question, the Convenant worshipped the Combine, so they wouldn’t fight because they have an alliance and share mutal respect

I’d like to think that Freeman got cloned several times over 500 years and the entire Combine invasion was forgotten somehow. Gordon was renamed John, was abducted at the age of 5, and conscripted into the Spartan-II Program, starting off the Halo Universe…

Everyone making comparisons between Gordon Freeman and Master Chief or saying they are the same…please hurt yourselves.

Combine would win. The Covenant were fighting against Humanity and were barely winning(if at all, never played Halo 3). Combine beat all of humanity in mere hours…they could beat humanity and the Covenant at the same time.

I agree, the Combine would win. They are inter-dimensional beings. The Covenant might be able to hold out for a while, but they would eventually get overrun. :expressionless:

The Covenant were completely owning Humans in the Haloverse, though. The only reason why Humanity was holding out so long was because the Cole Protocol effectively kept the locations of all Human planets secret, so the Covenant onslaught was effectively delayed due to them not knowing where to attack next for most of the time. The only reason why the Covenant lost the war against Humanity was because of the schism between the Sangheili and Jiralhanae that occurred just as they were about to finish off the Humans (Human population got reduced to around 200 million).

The Combine were able to overrun Earth in 7 hours because well, Earth is only one location, and it occurred during the early 21st Century or so. Halo occurs in the 26th Century, where there are a lot more Human worlds around. When they WERE attacked, they went down pretty fast.

Combine. An army of Covenant lost to ODSTs in Halo ODST. Conversely, you could say Gordon, a fucking scientist, killed the Combine himself. My response is this: the players expect Gordon Freeman to be some badass super-hero, just like Master Chief is. An ODST is a marine volunteering to be an ODST, not a super-hero, yet a single ODST could destroy an entire army of Covenant. This is why the covenant would lose to Combine because marines could take them out, and also why i despised halo ODST.

Are you serious? Of course did the Covenant lose, you, the player, are supposed to win. Do you want a game that you cannot win? Also, during most of the videos of ODST that I’ve seen, you were fighting along other Marines. They also do have special armor like Gordon, but they also are elite soldiers. That means, that the Combine are weaker, because they lose against a single scientist that has no actual combat training.
