Ahaha, you’ve never had to go to the Ausländeramt. Although the regime ended in 1945, it’s followers somehow managed to get jobs there.
Anyway, I have no dislike for Germans, even if I did go on a slight rant.
BACK ON TOPIC! AMERICANS ARE SILLY!

lol What else we make gun for? Shooting for fun and protect yourself from attack.
The gun control law in the USA just makes it too easy for every fool to get a gun and ammunition. I’m sure that both, the Columbine Highschool massacre and the shooting in the cinema could have been avoided if there would be a better law for the property of guns…
We tend to carry around 180-210 rounds for a standard combat load. But it all depends on your units SOP. 1/12 SOP dictated that we at least had 6 magazines, but most of my PLT carried 210rds (thats 7) but that is for 5.56. I carried that + 45rds of 9mm. 2 M67s, 1 PDM, 1 HC Smoke Grenade.
SAW gunners carry at least 3 drums, A-Gunner tends to carry around 2.
So no, not even close. Maybe he used a lot of the extra ammo to target practice?
No, all it would do would be create a black market for weapons.
I have to point out that American laws simply make it possible for criminals to get A LOT of guns, as opposed to “a few” guns at most in other western countries.
I’m sure that it would’ve been much harder for a 17 and 18 years old to get so many weapons - such as SMG’s, shotguns and grenades - that way.
Indeed it would. But surely if it saved a hundred lives it would be worth it.
I mean, look at how many shootings there are in Japan or England or pretty much anywhere else.
In 2010 there were 12,996 firearm related murders in the US.
In Japan there were 47.
The rest of the world looks at the mistakes America makes and then changes it’s policies accordingly.
China has recently had a huge crack down on illegal guns in it’s country and has done so very successfully.
It’s interesting how often these shootings happen in the US and yet there will never be a curb on gun ownership. America keeps making the same mistake and yet will sadly never learn from it.
Of course, countries which have made guns illegal will never be able to stamp them out, but the efforts made by them really do save lives.
An American wrote a little comment on this subject and I think it’s quite accurate;
Yea right. At the few amoks that happened here on german schools, the killers always had nothing more than a pistol they stole from their father.
Well for one, 17yr olds can’t buy SMGS and GRENADES
Americans have grown up with guns, the Japanese did not.
Who is going to pay to enforce such a law? Can you even comprehend the amount of resources it would take to force every American that owns a firearm to give up his weapon? Some would refuse to give up their weapons anyway and probably would shoot anyone who tried. We would require a larger police state which just means MORE AND MORE cops with… GUNS and less citizens with guns on the street. How does this make any sense?
Criminals will ALWAYS be able to buy and obtain illegal weapons and such a “law” would make many innocent, non-criminal minded people CRIMINALS. (Just like weed has.)
Besides the idea of making everyone in this country DEFENSELESS, does not sound like a good idea to me.
It would not work, EVER.
Yes, that’s how it should be. But as you can see, the Columbine Highschool killers got them.
That never was the idea. Just look at other country’s laws. In Germany for example you can legally buy and own a gun. Requirement is that you have a good reason to get a gun, that you’re not insane and that you know how to use a gun without brining someone innocent in danger. You have to keep the gun safe in a tresor and of course you’re not allowed to have a whole one-man-army hidden in your house. But it’s enough to protect yourself and your family. You don’t need to unarm the whole nation.
Probably. And you know why? Because it’s too late already.
I think his point was that they still would have got them, and did manage to get them, even if they’re illegal. Just because it works for Europe and Japan doesn’t mean it will work in the US. Of course I don’t really support people having an arsenal in their homes but it would simply cost way too much and cause so much backlash that it wouldn’t work and would probably just cause more trouble.
Another thing no one’s pointed out yet is this:
If even one person had been carrying concealed in that theater, the shooter could have been put down that much quicker. If someone had a CCW permit at Columbine, they could have defended the school. If people were allowed to carry on school grounds at VT, they could have stopped the whacko before he killed so many people.
I don’t get what’s so hard about this. People have guns in this country so they can defend themselves and their property, anytime, anywhere. And yet assholes in high seats keep enacting legislation to stop us from doing that. I don’t see how that’s very smart.
And if those people draw their guns and start shooting back at the killer, it would be better, that’s what you’re implying ?
Except I can see so many drawbacks with this logic of armed citizens :
If the killer isn’t killed rapidly, a crossfire would kill even more people
If you carry a gun on you at all time and you’re not part of the authorities, this means you’re afraid of everybody and/or society and more likely to be prone to shoot people on mistake
More street justice instead of due trials
A rise in accidental homicides
Kill someone in a crowd full of armed people and either it turns into a bloodbath or there’s too many suspects to find the real killer
More guns around means easier chance to steal one and frame somebody else for murder
etc.
Not really. If you spent any time around the type of people who conceal carry 90% of them are great shots and shoot 100x better than the majority of cops I have met.
Afraid of everyone? No, you’re prepared to deal with a situation like this and not prone to shoot people by mistake. You have made it clear that you have no idea what you’re talking about but I’ll keep going.
No. People have been able to conceal carry for a while and the lack of incidents like this is sufficient enough.
No. This makes absolutely no sense at all.
You are implying that he said everyone should have been carrying a firearm, which is ridiculous.
Oh look it’s this argument again.
This discussion is fine, but please try to keep it civil, thanks guys.
I learned enough from Malaysia and I sure as hell gonna get a pistol and permit to defend myself and my family. I don’t want to see my family get chopped into pieces by some india or malay men with machetes just for robbing my house.
The reason for the 2nd Amendment granting us “the right to bear arms” was so that we could keep our government in check. If they (US government) took away our guns and continued on being a top super-power military, they would not fear their citizens ever again and the already fragile American democracy would completely fail.
If you keep tabs on these sorts of things you will soon realize that people are actually pretty hard to kill.
A friend or a relative, in other words some innocent person who has nothing to do with your little vendetta. Good fucking job moron, your a bigger shithead than the people making jokes.
So much fucking ignorance in this thread. I’m gonna stay out. Oh and be afraid, be very afraid…
